Grace Christian School
has started a program this
year of recognizing specific
Character TraitsCharacter TraitsCharacter TraitsCharacter Traits in our
students. Our teachers
have been observing their
student’s behavior, look-
ing for the character trait
that is best demonstrated
in each student. Whether
at school, at home, or at
play, there are basic
values that define ethical
behavior or character.
This program is our effort
to encourage and to
develop adults of tomorrow
who will apply these rules of
ethics when making
decisions in their lives.
Once a month, in our chapel
service, students will be
recognized for demonstrat-
ing these Godly character
traits. Parents will be noti-
fied ahead of time of the
date their student(s) will
receive a certificate and
place their name(s) on the
character pillars located in
the school lobby. These
pillars will be displayed all
year showing the 12 charac-
ter traits we are focusing on
developing at our school
and the students who are
exemplifying them. We
hope all of our parents will
be able to attend our chapel
service when their child
receives his/her recogni-

Our super Day Care Staff is
very creative—every other

They provide fun, seasonal
crafts for our students who are
remaining on campus for day
care to make and take home or
use to decorate the day care
room. Last Wednesday, our
students had fun painting clay
pots that were donated to our
school. We appreciate our day
care staff who not only watch
over the safety of our students,
but make it such a fun place.

Our Preppie K Class had a
great field trip to Stater
Brothers Grocery Store. Mrs.
Gardner would like to thank
her parents who helped to
provide transportation and
Stater Brothers on Valley
View and Ball for providing
a fun tour of their store.

Last Thursday, October 15th, Grace
Christian School participated in the
s t a t e o f C a l i f o r n i a ’ s
“Great Shakeout”“Great Shakeout”“Great Shakeout”“Great Shakeout”. This statewide
earthquake drill was not done to scare
our students, but it was meant to
prepare all of us for a major
earthquake. Please spend time at
home talking about the seriousness of
knowing what to do in case of an
earthquake both at home and school.
We set the alarms in our school
building to go off at 9:05 a.m.. Last
Thursday. Our teachers responded
immediately and did a great job in
exiting the building with their students
in a timely manner. Each teacher has
an emergency backpack to take with
them that includes a copy of your
emergency contact card. Their first
line of action once their class is in
the assigned waiting zone, is to
take roll to make sure no one has
been left behind in the classroom
or anywhere else in the building.
Each teacher has a sign to hold up
indicating if they have all their
students or if anyone is missing.
We have special staff members
assigned to go back into the
building if any student is not with
his/her class. This is all part of our
effort to keep our students safe—
safety is a number one priority safety is a number one priority safety is a number one priority safety is a number one priority

RED RIBBON WEEK SNAPRED RIBBON WEEK SNAPRED RIBBON WEEK SNAPRED RIBBON WEEK SNAPS !S !S !S !
Last week was Grace Christian School’s Red
Ribbon Week that focused everyone’s
attention on drug awareness. We still had fun
while bringing their attention to this serious
matter and the pictures speak for themselves.
Do you recognize these students and
teachers??? Even with messy hair, crazy socks
and twins day, Grace Christian School students
and staff know to say “NO” to drugs!
