A Brief Summary of the report

In order to highlight the objectives, activities to be conducted from the Alumni Association

Committee, first annual general meeting was held on 14-10-2017. The activities of the

Alumni Cell started with the workshop on ‘Technical Writing’ conducted by alumnus of our

college Mr. Ashwin on 13-09-2017 to all the final year BBA and BSc students. Followed by

Committee meeting was held on 25-09-2017 with the agenda of Alumni meet and election.

As per the minutes of meeting, the date of Alumni first annual general body meeting was

scheduled on 14-10-2017 with the distribution of work with all the committee members.

For the purpose of network and connectivity of alumni students with college alumni

committee, WATSUP group was created by Prof. Jyothi and Prof. Manjushree, convener and

member respectively with the total strength of 300 students in two different groups.

Invitation, inviting all alumni students was sent via watsup and email to all students.

Further, as far as possible individual phone calls were made to invite them. Feedback form

preparation with the suggestions of all the committee member and principal was done.

PPT presentation showing the memories of old students through the video was arranged by

the convener. Finally Meeting was held on 14th Oct. 2017 with the agenda to have election

for the alumni association representing old students in different hierarchy. In the presence

of Principal, committee members of the college, following alumni students were elected:

Mr. Mohsin Pasha - Organizing Secretary

The meeting with its agenda was successfully executed with the support of principal,

committee member, other teaching and non-teaching staff, students’ volunteers and of

course, with the presence of alumni students. Feedback was given by the old students

through the written form. They also expressed their feedback on the stage. Even, present

first and second year students were able to express their expectation from the alumni

students.

On 12-10-2017, workshop on Career Guidance by alumni student Mr. Mohsin Pasha was

held at the college. He made it very clear among the students about their students’ life and

its importance along with the statistical data and its analysis and how students should be

keen in choosing their career objectives, planning and execution of the same during their

students’ life.

Finally to summarise,

Not only inspiring the current students but also ensuring a proper career path, efforts to

make placement cell of Government College in par with its private college counter parts,

DCE has issued orders regarding some notifications about job openings in different

departments which was also brought to the notice of alumni students through sending

these soft copies of notification and message to the group. This has coupled with constant

hard work to make a difference in the lives of marginalized and weaker section students of

Government Colleges. In order to help the students and to make them more aware about

various job opportunities available to degree students in different sectors.

Alumni cell looks forward to organize more students’ centric programmes towards

achieving objectives of the college, on par with its mission along with helping students to

achieve their career objectives.
