Govt. Of India is integrating technology across departments to add to real time information sharing and effectively utilizing supply-chain efficiency. Collaboration across involved parties dispersed across physical locations helps in effective retrieval of information for effective processing. ITSU (Immunization technical support unit), the ambitious division for complete immunization of preventable diseases is a collaborative effort by the govt which has signed a MoU with Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation. With this partnership, the govt will be able to access resources to provide proper vaccination to the deserving and mothers and children in the right target group to give them a fighting chance and avert health diseases.

Techno-savvy Govt has put up basic infrastructure and technical tracking tools which help concerned parties to track co-ordinates

like reaching the target audience and synchronize their efforts with different parties for effective outcome. The Govt has picked the

technology and dashboard tools that provide real time info of the progress on the ground.

ITSU strictly monitors, reviews and evaluates immunization data uploaded by health facilities across India. The immunization dashboards are shared with ministry of health, partner organizations and support staff to keep them in the loop. I-dashboards evaluates patterns, ts coverage, contribution of different parties and patient registration efforts. This allows govt. to provide feedback, provide the right support to assist in the effort.

Govt of India is mapping health efforts through geographic information system (GIS). Checking the spatial imaging on the

maps till the village level will reference supply abilities, cold chain infrastructure and support in incorporating statistics

using census data of previous years. The tool will also help in route planning for vaccine delivery and support in micro-

planning efforts by the govt. in making the program a success.

Immunization program repositoryThe govt. has created a repository tool which is the most comprehensive

architecture that contains resources like guidelines for program implementation, assessment reports and policies, training material, global

advocacy and reference material, advertising and poster, protocol information, advocacy movies and videos. This tool helps educate concerned parties, provide them valuable resource bank, and help them in supporting in

vaccination efforts.

Coverage monitoring toolsImmunization technical support unit unites key stakeholders,

implement strategies for UIP by improving access and monitors coverage across village and city level. Enhancing institution

capacity and monitoring the progress will help strategize, build capacity and divert resources to the insufficient resourced areas.

Immunization technical support unit is striving to implement and reach for total eradication of preventable diseases by 2017. It is

working towards reaching that goal by working at war footing. The Govt. has made its intentions clear with prime minister taking personal interest in the program’s implementation. Hopefully, we see the vision

implemented with India realizing its ambitions as soon as possible.
