SUBJ ECT:- Admissio ns to Postgraduate Super-specialty Courses Session- 2013 through Super Specialty Entrance Test (SSET) in theHealth Sciences Institutions (Medical/Dental) in the Stateof Punjab.

1. The Governor of Punjab is pleased to notify ad missions to Post GraduateSu per-specialty courses for the year 2013 in the Health SciencesEd ucational Institutions in the State of Pu njab This notification is insupersession to all the previous notifications issued for ad mi ssion to thepost graduate super-specialty course.

2. Saba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab is authorized toconduct the entrance test i.e. SSET-2013 for deciding the inter-se-merit of the candidates. SSET-20 13 is the eligibility-cum-rankingexami nation prescribed as the single entrance exami nation.

3. Admission to a II super-specialty courses shall be based upo n meritobtained inSSET-20 13.SSET-2013 is mandatory for getting entry tothese courses under various Universities and Institutions situated in theState of Punjab except the Minority institutions.

4. The Saba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot is authorized tomake admissions on the basis of SSET-2013, as per procedure andcriteria laid down in the notification under The Punjab Private HealthSciences Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission, Fixation of Feeand Making of Reservation) Act 2006.

5. Candidate must not have crossed the age of 35 years on or before 31stDecember 2013; relaxable in case of SC!ST candidates by a maximum of 5years and for OSC Candidates 3 years. The upper age limit is not applicableto sponsored! PCMS candidates

6. Candidate must possess a degree in MD!MS from a University recognized bythe MCI in the respective discipline. Major disciplines are mentioned inAnnexure A.

7. Candidate should have not taken more than two additional attempts inpassing his!her, M. D.lM .S.

8. 9. Admission to minority institutions shall be made as per provisions ofThe Punjab Private Health Sciences Educational Institutions(Regulation of Admission, Fixation of Fee and Making of Reservation)Act 2006.

10. The schedule of counseling will be decided by the Saba FaridUniversity of Health Sciences, Faridkot, keeping in view theschedule of the Medical Council of India/ Dental Council ofIndia as upheld by the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

11. The choice of courses shall be exercised by the candidate at the timeof counseling. There will not be more than two counseling i.e. neitherthird counseling nor extended second counseling.

13. In case of any dispute in distribution of seats for all institutionssituated in the State of Punjab the Director Research andMedical Education, Punjab will be appellate authority.

14. Candidates scoring 50% in SSET-2013 shall be eligible to apply foradmission and for appearing in practical! viva-voce test. Overall meritshall be based upon the marks obtained in the SSET-2013 andpractical/ viva-voca with 50% weightage to each.

15. The practical! viva-voce examination will be held at the MedicalCollege concerned

16. Saba Farid University of Health Sciences may fix and charge fee forprospectus, application fee, etc.

17. The application for Admissions, complete in all respects shall besubm itted to the Saba Farid University of Health Sciences, Farid kot,Punjab.

18. In case a candidate once admitted; drops out or leaves the PostGraduate (Super-speciality) course in between he/she shall bedebarred for a period of five years.

19. Fee Stru cture: (Provisional and subject to increase/ decrease withsubsequent notifications for 2013 session.)

a. Fee for OM / MCh shall be Rs. 6,00,000/- per annum. The fee will becollected on the spot by the Saba Farid University of HealthSciences, Faridkot.

b. Hostel fee and security advance (Annual and provisional) for privateinstitutes;

I. General Independent Room Rs. 15,000 per year (Maximum)for single bedroom.

II. Special Room (Attached bathroom and AC) Rs. 24,000/- peryear Maximum.

III. Security Advance Rs. 25,000 or its equivalent (refundable atthe completion of course.)

IV. Mess "charge"- Actual and to be managed by the students.(These charges are exclusive of electricity / water but inclusiveof everything else.)

These include all kinds of charges and nothing extra will be charged from thestudents under any circumstances on any account whatsoever.

Note: 2

The fee will be payable on annual basis and the institutes shall, not insist uponthe candidate to deposit fee of the entire course in advance. At the most,candidates can be asked to furnish a bond/bank guarantee that they will be liableto pay the balance fee for the whole course even if they leave the institute/coursemidway.

20. In order to ensure completion of the prescribed courses (s) and periodof study as well as commencement of examination(s) in time, noadmission (s) adjustment(s) shall be made after 30th Septemberregardless of any vacancy (ies) that might exist or might arisethereafter for any reason.

21. Any misrepresentation, false information, fake documentation andimpersonation for securing admission shall be punishable under therelevant provisions of Indian Penal Code along-with cancellation ofadmission.

22. For any dispute arising out of this notification or of the admissionsunder this notification, the jurisdiction shall be Punjab and Chandigarh

only. ~
