MISSIONS UNDERTAKEN BY GOVT
Government of India has undertaken manyprojects under sustainability. Some of these are:1.National Solar Mission:
It seeks to deploy 2000 MW of solar electricitycapacity in the country by 2020, the first
phase(2010-2012) is currently underway duringwhich 1000 MW is planned to be installed.2. National mission for Enhanced EnergyEfficiency:
It creates new institutional mechanisms toenable the development and energy efficiency
market. Various programs have been initiated fore.g. super efficient equipment program(SEEP) toaccelerate the deployment of superefficientappliances.
