If someone should die without anointing, remember that the desire to receive is sufficient and the Lord cares! If You Should Experience the Loss of a Loved One Please call the parish offices. If you feel you will be in need, or your loved one has passed, our Bereavement Ministers will assist in making arrangements with your chosen funeral directors and offer you helpful guidelines that will aid in the Liturgical planning of the Mass or Me-morial Service. Dear friends in Christ, What a wonderful Mass we celebrated last weekend for all our be-loved deceased parishioners, family and friends! Thank you to all who made our celebration possible. I must thank above all, our Bereavement Ministers! Your support of the grieving at the time of death and in the days that follow are a powerful witness to the mer-cy of God that should flow through every parish into a wounded world. Thank you. This month we focus on the Governance and Finance aspect of our Parish Plan. I am blessed to have the wisdom and counsel of both our Parish Council and Finance Council as I seek to fulfill my Key Responsibility Areas: To Teach, To Govern & Sanctify. Today, after the 10 AM Mass you will have the opportunity for a “Meet and Greet”, in Msgr. Healy Hall, with many of the members of those two Councils. Please take time to introduce yourselves and meet those who serve on these councils. Beginning this month, as you may have noticed last Sunday, we are offering prayers before our Offertory Collection is taken up. We are striving to grow more as “intentional givers” and to make it truly a part of our Spiritual Growth. I invite you to listen to the prayers and follow in your heart. For the Christian, money is not a goal in and of itself, but rather an instrument for “doing good” and building up the Kingdom of God. It is my most sincere hope that these prayers help us to truly offer ourselves more fully to God. A reminder, we do encourage our parishioners to make a commit-ment to supporting our parish ministries. And certainly electronic giving is one of the most effective ways to accomplish that respon-sibility; but we are also looking to initiate “text-to-give” technology in the near future (we will keep you posted on that one!) But we should not forget the power of our children seeing us place cash or checks into the offertory basket. It teaches them to give. This month we invite all to review their support of our parish and how they give. November is Stewardship Month. Grateful for all the gifts shared all the ministries of service in our parish; I wish you peace. - Fr. Ed

EVANGELIZATION

Bullying prevention starts at home From cyberbullying to name-calling and exclusion, bullying can affect people of every age, especially kids and teens in school. Their peers can be cruel, so it’s important to talk about how to handle bullies, especially before a situation escalates. One way to stop the cycle of bul-lying in its tracks, is to teach kids to speak kindly to others and to treat everyone around them with respect. For more information, please visit https://www.faithandsafety.org/bullying.
