This Is

Easter Unashamed

The Good News

But your iniquities have separated you from

your God; your sins have hidden His face from

you, so that He will not hear.

-Isaiah 59:2

So God created mankind in his own image

in the image of God He created them; male

and female He created them.

-Genesis 1:27

God is a just judge, and God is

angry with the wicked every day. If

He does not turn back, He will

sharpen His sword; He bends His

bow and makes it ready.

-Psalm 7:11-12

For all have sinned and fall short of

the glory of God

-Romans 3:23

In this the love of God was manifested

toward us, that God has sent His only

begotten Son into the world, that we

might live through Him. In this is love,

not that we loved God, but that He

loved us and sent His Son to be the

propitiation for our sins.

-1John 4:9-10

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that

your sins may be wiped out, that times

of refreshing may come from the Lord.

-Acts 3:19

For God so loved the world that He

gave His one and only Son, that

whoever believes in Him shall not

perish but have eternal life

-John 3:16

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a

new creation; old things have passed

away; behold, all things have become

new.

-2 Corinthians 5:17

A true Christian is a new creation and

will live a life that reflects Gods radical

work of re-creation in his or her life

The Good News

The reason we are all on this planet is because God

wanted to start a family of people who loved Him

and loved one another. He could have just created

robots who already loved Him and would do

whatever He said. But this is not love. So He created

us in His image and gave us the free will to choose

Him or to choose to live without Him. Because of this

free will and because He loves us He gave us ten

laws that we had to follow. Any rational person

knows that all laws must have consequences or they

will not be paid attention to. The consequence that

God gave was that whoever turned away and

disregarded his laws had to give back the life that He

had given them. The consequence is death. This is

not a harsh penalty when you think about it, because

if it were not for God, we would not have life. The

Bible says that we have all turned away and broken

God’s laws.

Have you turned your back on God and broken His

laws? Lets take a look at a couple of them and see:

How many lies have you told in your life? What do

you call someone who tells lies? Have you ever

stolen anything even if it was small? What do you

call someone who steals something? Have you ever

used God’s name in vain? That’s called blasphemy.

Jesus said that if you look at someone with lust other

than your husband or wife, you have committed

adultery in your heart. Have you ever done that?

Jesus also said that if you are angry with someone

else you have committed murder in your heart. One

day we will all face God and have to give an account

for the things that we did with the life He gave us.

Based on the five laws we looked at, will you be

innocent or guilty when you stand in God’s court?

You may be thinking you will just say sorry. But think

about how that would work out in an earthly

courtroom. Should a judge let someone who broke

the law go free just because he said he was sorry? If

a judge did that, he would be unjust and corrupt and

get fired. How more just and perfect is God than an

earthly judge? The truth is that no one has kept His

laws and that we are all guilty. This is the eternal

problem, God has to be just and give us the

consequence for breaking His laws: death and

separation from His presence in Hell. All of us.

Because He is Good. But He loves us even though we

turn our backs and mess up. We are His children. So

what can God do? How can he not be corrupt but sill

overlook our breaking of His law?

For God so loved the world…

A little over 2,000 years ago, God visited His creation

in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. He followed all

the ten laws and lived the perfect life that we

couldn’t. And He took the consequence that we

deserved. In our place. So that God could legally

dismiss our case. So that we could be lawfully

adopted into His family and live with Him forever. So

that we never have to die. You see, God raised

himself from the grave to show us that the penalty

of death no longer exists to those who choose Him.

But even after all this, true love comes from free will

and choice. If we want to be made right with God

and be innocent in His eyes, we have to accept what

He has done for us. Sadly, after all God has done to

restore us, there are those who still turn their backs

on Him and mock what He has done. The Bible says

that we have to turn away from the way we are

living, trust in what Jesus has done, and make Him

the Lord of our lives. When we do this, the Bible says

that we will be born again and He will give us a new

heart and new desires. We will be a brand new

creation and the very Spirit of God will live within us.

You see, living a life without God leaves us with an

emptiness deep inside and we spend our whole lives

trying to fill it up. We fill it with hobbies, jobs,

money, alcohol, partying, family, etc…But we can

only fill it up temporarily before we start feeling

empty again. Living a life without God destroys

individuals, families, and marriages. That emptiness

can only be truly filled by our creator. You see, we

can come from death to life right now. Christ can

heal you and your family. Jesus said, “Behold, I make

all things new.” Religion can’t save you. Your family

traditions can’t save you. Being a Baptist, Lutheran,

Methodist, Catholic, Non-denominational, etc… can’t

save you. Only Jesus and Him alone!

One day we will all stand before our creator in the

court of all courts. Will you be innocent and

adopted? Or will you be guilty?

In the stillness of your heart, just pray to Him.

Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be

saved.
