Make the gospel the driving force

in your communication.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–Bitterness

• Silently nursing a grudge.

• Like smoldering embers.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–Wrath

• An explosive temper tantrum.

• Like a volcano.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–Anger

• Indignant hostility.

• Like a grass fire.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–Clamor

• Shouting down others.

• Like an out of control forest fire.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–Slander

• Attacking another’s character.

• Like arson.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–Malice

• Hoping that trouble and misfortune come to others.

•Put off sinful reactions.

–The gospel frees us from the powerful control of our emotions.

•Put on Christlike actions.

–The gospel empowers us to respond with truth and love.

•Put on Christlike actions.

–Be kind.

• An unselfish concern for someone expressed in a desire to help and even sacrifice for them (even if they have hurt you).

•Put on Christlike actions.

–Be tenderhearted.

• A compassionate willingness to help carry the burdens of someone (even if they have hurt you).

•Put on Christlike actions.

–Be forgiving.

• A gracious release of a wrong committed against you (especially when they have hurt you).

•Focus on Christ’s love.

•Not your rights or others wrongs.

•Remember the gospel.

–Love others in the same way God has loved you.
