GoPro Omni Importer Workflow

GoPro Omni Importer software application makes producing a 360 VR video file from 6 individual GoPro files much easier and more effective

When opening the application, this window allows you to import video files either directly from microSD cards or copied files (If you copy files from microSD cards to local a driver, remember to copy the whole card folder that at least includes its DCIM directory/folder, and in order to use the “LOCATE YOUR FOOTAGE” you have to move all the copied folders/directories into one folder, for a full instruction of using GoPro Omni Importer please find it here)

After all files are imported, the footage window should be shown as below

Choose the footage you would like to process, and set up the parameters accordingly and click “START PROCESSING” to make a rendered 360 video file

The processing progress will show at the bottom of the window

When the processing is done, you can either choose “OPEN IN FINDER” to see the rendered 360 video or choose “OPEN IN AVP” to make further fine adjustment of the project

If you choose “OPEN IN FINDER” and would like to see the rendered file, you may choose the file named in the footage number with export format (in the example below “VIDEO_8_4K”) with the suffix “.mp4”

If you choose “OPEN IN AVP”, the Autopano Video Pro window will open automatically (or you can manually open AVP if you choose “OPEN IN FINDER” by double clicking the file with the suffix “.kava” (in the example above “VIDEO_8.kava”)

When you use AVP to make fine adjustment or do a full process independently without using GoPro Omni Importer, please find it here . When you render your final adjusted file, please choose the “Output type” as “H.264 MP4”, “Preset” as “H.264 4K UHDTV” and “Standard/FPS” as “as original video” (with this setting you don’t need to worry about choosing PAL or NTSC and FPS settings). Choose the location for saving the rendered file, and click “Render” to export the rendering file (shown as below)
