1. What is Google SketchUp?


• SketchUp is a 3D modelling program, allowing the creation, viewing and manipulation of 3D objects.

• Used by architects, engineers, game developers, interior and industrial designers.

•DESIGNED TO BE EASY. Not really a “professional” quality 3D program. Used to teach and learn basic 3D modelling concepts, and as a “sketch pad” for professionals for brainstorming and rough work.

•Users share their designs on the Sketchup 3D Warehouse. They can then be downloaded and used by anyone.

•SketchUp Pro is has a few extra features and is available free for teachers, and fairly inexpensively for students. BUT THIS IS UNNECESSARY FOR MOST USERS – THE FREE VERSION IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL
