google glass to increase hospital efficiency
TRANSCRIPT
For 25 years, Randall Fincke has been at
the forefront of the development and
implementation of medical technology.
The creator of a wide variety of medical
devices, Randall Fincke’s primary areas
of expertise lie in improving the quality
and safety of patient care, increasing
hospital efficiencies, and reducing costs.
The new high-tech apparatus Google Glass is the next innovation in saving time and patient lives. From New York to California, doctors and surgeons are teaming up with Google to provide patient records right in front of their eyes, eliminating the need to switch between terminals during patient care. Already being used at Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Google Glass has already saved at least one life by quickly recognizing a medication the patient was allergic.
Google Glass functions the same as
regular eyeglasses, except it features a
touch screen, central processing unit,
wireless microphone camera, and
wireless capabilities. Patients also
expressed a positive response to the
glasses, stating that they were useful for
accessing online billing and looking up
terms with which they were unfamiliar.
