    The axial design allows or a streamlined fow path aroundthe disc and high pressure recovery, minimising pressuredrop across the valve. This e cient design combined with thehighly responsive non-slam operation make this valve ideal

    or high head, critical pump applications.

    Type ZB - The ZB is the Goodwin standard valve or sizes1 - 10. With its optimum designed aerodynamic fow paththrough the valve the ZB results in very low pressure losses.It is also available with API 6D ace-to- ace dimensions (ZD).

    The Z range is suitable or all kind o liquid and gaseousfuids and all installation positions.

    The unique ring disc design ensures that the disc remainslight and responsive even in large sizes, which is essential

    or rapid non-slam closure. Mounted on a multiple springand radial guide assembly, the disc moves reely withoutany o the rictional orces associated with the solid disc andsha t design. Combining two ring-shaped annular fow pathswith the excellent pressure recovery properties provided by the di user, the minimal pressure drop across the Type Nvalves gives li etime energy savings when compared to more

    conventional check valve designs.

    Type NK - The NK is the Goodwin standard lower costsolution where marginally higher pressure drops can beaccepted. It o ers the customer a shorter ace-to- ace lengthand lower weight than the Type NB.

    Type NB - The NB is the Goodwin standard long ace toace valve or 12 and larger, providing optimum pressure

    recovery per ormance and, hence minimum pressure loss.It is also available with API 6D ace-to- ace dimensions (ND).

    The N range is suitable or all kind o liquid and gaseousfuids and all installation positions.

    Facilities & ResourcesGoodwins Check Valve manu acturing acilities inStoke-on-Trent, England, comprises o a Steel and SuperNickel alloy oundry (Goodwin Steel Castings) and a wellequipped CNC machine shop with ull design, abrication,inspection and test acilities (Goodwin International).

    The ISO 9001 oundry specialises in producing highintegrity, pressure vessel castings rom a ew kilos to18,000 kg in weight. The materials cast by the oundry include ductile and Ni-Resist irons, carbon and low alloy steels, stainless steels, duplex stainless steels and supernickel alloys such as Hastelloy and Alloy 625. Goodwinsability to produce the special alloys is enhanced by itsin-house 10 tonne AOD re ning urnace.

    The design, machine and assembly shops cover some

    22,000m2

    and are equipped with 36 modern CNCmachine tools that are the core o the production and aresupplemented by many conventional machine tools.

    The test acilities include six hydraulic hydrostatic test rigs,the largest o which has a 2500 tonne hydraulic ram, andtwo pneumatic test rigs. Cryogenic testing is also carriedout on site where valves are cooled by liquid nitrogen at -196C and leak tested with helium gas.

    Valve design is carried out using 3D CAD and is veri edon computers utilising nite element analysis and FlowSimulation programs. Both the oundry and the design,machining, assembly and test acilities are audited andaccredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008.

    Extensive in-house testing and laboratory acilities are available including:-
