FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GOODWILL HOPES THEIR LAST-MINUTE DONATORS WILL NOT PROCRASTINATE ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER YEAR
End of the year donation event hopes to see its biggest turn out yet
DENVER, Colorado (Dec. 2, 2010) – Goodwill Industries of Denver is gearing up once again for
Procrastinator’s Delight, its popular annual end of the year donation event on December 31,
2010. This is the last day of the tax year for people to receive tax deductions on all donations
made to Goodwill, so it really is a true Procrastinator’s Delight! Goodwill Denver and its 20
metro area donation and retail centers hope to see increases from last year in both donations and
the amount of people who attend the last-chance event.
"At Goodwill we look forward to Procrastinator’s Delight ever year, and this year we are
hoping to see more donations than ever,” Goodwill Denver’s Public Relations Manager Jeni
Anderson explained. “The public’s donations make such a positive difference in our
communities and in the lives of the people that Goodwill touches all throughout the year. It’s not
every day you see the CEO or VP of Marketing at your local stores, so we would love to see
each and every procrastinator out there in all their donating glory on New Year's Eve this year!”
Goodwill Industries of Denver is a nonprofit organization that helps disadvantaged youth
and adults all across Northern Colorado and the Denver Metro Area through job training, college
preparation for high school students, and employment opportunities for disabled members of the
community. Individual donations and the profits from their retail centers completely fund these
programs that are the foundation of Goodwill itself, and the organization continues to change
countless lives, as it has already done over the last 90 years.
Goodwill is also a leading member of the “go green revolution”, priding their locations
on saving over 55 million pounds of donated items from ending up in landfills each year. To
encourage their consumers to recycle and purchase unique clothing items from their stores,
Goodwill features several different time- and weather-appropriate fashion trend spots called
“Thrifting Denver” on their popular Facebook page.
Procrastinators rejoice, Procrastinators unite (today), and procrastinators delight!
Goodwill Denver hopes this year’s event will be its best yet, and they are depending on high
numbers of attendees and donations to achieve this goal. It’s your last chance to do something
good this year– don’t wait until January 1, 2011 to come to Goodwill’s Procrastinator’s Delight
event! Make sure you get that 2010 tax deduction and donate before you start procrastinating on
next year’s resolutions already!
