SCRIPTURE READINGS
First Reading: Jeremiah 20:10‑13 The knowledge that God was with him ena-bled Jeremiah to remain faithful to his difficult task as a prophet. Second Reading: Romans 5:12‑15 Paul explains to the Romans that Adam’s sin brought death to all, but Christ’s gift of himself brought grace and life. Gospel: Matthew 10:26‑33 Christ exhorts his disciples to open and fearless witness to the Gospel, assuring them of God’s special care in all their trials.
COLLECTION BREAKDOWN: June 9th - June 15th:
Many thanks to all of our parishioners who respond each week to the needs of our parish and who make their weekly offering a part of their budget. May God bless you for your generosity.
Scripture reflection with Fr. Tim + Pause + Reflect + Act +
1) Is your attitude one of self pity or one of faith? Do you believe God is with you? How can your awareness of God’s presence affect your life?
2) To be a conduit of grace, we have to get out of the way and let God act. What habits assist you in putting a leash on your obstructive tendencies?
3) Why is it important to share your faith with others?
4) Name your top five fears. How does faith address each one and guide you to a courageous response?
As a Reminder….
Multiple weeks of offerings can be given on one check. No need to use all the weekly envelopes provided. Just write the weeks or month the offering is for. This will simplify the process on both ends! If you have an envelope #, please write it on the memo line. As always you can give online, mail in your donations or bring them to the church. Thank you!

God our Father, in your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless our Father. Let the example of his faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, his family, may honor him always with a spirit of profound respect. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Wishing all the Fathers of our Parish a Blessed and Happy Father’s Day!
Prayers to St. Joseph, the foster-father of Jesus, date back almost as far as Our Lord’s time! Although he came from King David’s noble lineage, St. Joseph (left) lived a life of great humility and devotion to his Holy Family as a carpenter.
He is the patron saint of the Universal Church, and people invoke his aid for workers, families, home buyers and sellers, and the grace of a
happy death, among other things. St. Thomas Aquinas once noted that St. Joseph is unique among patron saints in that he is able to assist us at anytime for anything.
This prayer is among the earliest prayers to St. Joseph, and also one of the best known:
Oh St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
Oh St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful interces-sion and obtain for me from your divine son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while he reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me, and ask him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.
Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary ~ Ronnie and Joe Gilligan ~
who received a special blessing at the 5:00 PM Mass on Saturday.
Wishing you many more years of “twogetherness!”
FAITH FORMATION NOTES
REMEMBER
DO NOT BE AFRAID:
Put yourself in God’s hands
Gospel Matthew 10:26-33 Jesus assures the Twelve that God cares about them. Before Jesus sent the apostles out to bring the Good News to the people, He gathered them together and said; “Do not be afraid to stand before the crowds and speak, even though there will be many who wish you harm and will not listen.” Reflection: Why did the apostles need great courage to go and share the Gospel with other people? They had to leave their friends and families and travel to countries where they were strangers. When they got there, they had to live as Jesus had taught them and share His message with the crowds. Do you think they found it easy to convince people that Jesus had done all the wonderful things they spoke of including coming back to life? Many did not believe them and chased the apostles away from their towns. How do we share the Gospel message today? We can tell people about Jesus, but we must also try to live the way that Jesus taught us. We must share what we believe, and the Holy Spirit will give us the same strength and courage that He gave the disciples. (Children’s Liturgies—Katie Thompson)

ASK A FRANCISCAN…
What can I say to a young person who says that pain and illness prove there is no God, that God is simply in our minds and is not, therefore, real?
Some answers are too simple - and convenient - to be true. This explanation of human suffering (mostly caused by other people misusing their God-given freedom) directly contra-dicts God’s self-revelation in Scripture as a compassionate God. If, in fact, there is no God, then compassion will soon be seen as entirely optional, something that resembles a hobby. Like it or not, we all eventually become like the God whom we worship or deny. The mental image of God that is being rejected by these people is not what the Bible teaches anyway.

Religious Freedom Week takes place from June 22, the Memorial of Sts. Thomas More & John Fisher, through June 29, the Solemnity of Sts. Peter & Paul. Join Catholics across the country to pray and act for the freedom to serve faithfully and with integrity.
All people desire to know their Creator. All people have a natural impulse to seek the good and to live in accordance with that good. All people can flourish when they pursue the truth about God and respond to the truth. Religious freedom means that all people have the space to flourish. Religious freedom is both an American value and an important part of Catholic teaching on human dignity. When we promote religious freedom, we promote the common good and thus strengthen the life of our nation and the community of nations.
