Relationship with the Practice
We attend all practice meetings and contribute
We are part of the panel that Interviews all potential GP’s
We carry out studies on how the Practice works
The practice received a lot of complaints surrounding the Reception Staff. The PPG observed how they interacted with patients. There was a language problem. The result was that the young Reception staff were changed for a more mature and understanding group. The young staff were redeployed within the practice

SUPER PPGs
GOOD NEWS 2
Creation of a Super PPG
1 Dudley CCG looks after over 300K people and is divided into 5 location areas
2 Our location K A B has 7 practices and represent about 25% of the Dudley MBC population
3 Our group felt it would benefit all our patients if all the 7 PPGs got together and sang off the same hymn sheet
4 We met, agreed that each PPG would have two reps to decide policy and formed a new PODPPG representing over 90000 and told the CCG
It wasn’t easy
GOOD NEWS 2
What has happened
1 Dudley CCG has decided that the way forward is our way and has suggested that the other locations set up PODs
2 Our location can go to the CCG with suggestions from representatives of over 25% of the population with a very good chance of them being accepted
3 We are in the process of being asked as patients to sit on CCG Committees
4 Only two of our POD team speak at the CCG patients meetings to a POD agreed Policy
