A NEW COLLEAGUE IN OUR TEAM –EIKE GEHRTS

We are glad to welcome Mr. Eike Gehrts as a new expert in our ranks.Mr. Gehrts is specialized in the fields of fire and smoke protection, soundproofing, FPCand quality assurance, declaration of performance and CE-marking as well as thedetermination of performance characteristics of windows and doors.He has been involved in the technical activities of the German Association of Window andCurtain Walling Manufacturers as well as the Quality Assurance Association for Windows,Curtain Walling and Exterior Pedestrian Doors for the past 22 years.Since 2004 he has been on his way as external inspector of the ift Rosenheim in the fieldsof third-party supervision and certification all over Germany as well as in neighbouringEuropean countries (A, CH, NL).He has a very extensive spectrum of tasks and performances. These comprise third-partyinspection of companies which have been awarded the RAL Quality Mark for windows,curtain walling and exterior pedestrian doors (RAL-GZ 695) as well as the surveillance of fireprotection and smoke control elements (according to German national as well asharmonized European procedures), auditing of burglar resistant elements and doors withthe ability to release (doors in escape lanes).

A NEW COLLEAGUE IN OUR TEAM: ROLAND POPP

We are looking forward to the active support of our new freelance collaborator, RolandPopp. He is an ex-police officer of the Federal Border Guard, later head of personalsecurity management of the Munich branch of Dornier Co. (nowadays Airbus) and hasstarted his career already in the field of security. He actively experienced the late periodof the RAF in Germany (Red Army Faction, German terrorist group between the 1970iesand early 1990ies), which became the cornerstone of his current safety thinking.Subsequently, he started the sales and distribution of radar and laser sensors as well asmobile systems at Dornier and Senstar. Later, he studied explosion-resistant windows,doors and curtain walling also on an international level until he returned to the area ofoutdoor protection with complex security systems. This will also be his field of operationin the future.

A NEW COLLEAGUE IN OUR TEAM –OLAF VÖGELE

Bundling competences, bringing know-how together according to the motto “collectivelywe are strong”. We are looking forward to the qualified support furnished by expert OlafVoegele. Olaf Voegele has been active in the sun-protection industry for over 30 years andhas during this time traversed various occupational stations. Starting as works manager in amedium-sized company for the production of sun-protection equipment with 80collaborators, today his activities as an expert on the European level comprise rollershutters, gates, sun-protection, manufacture of technical textiles as well as smart home. Heremains on top of the actual status of technical standards and state-of-the-art techniquesdue to his continuous participation in the activities of several expert committees(Association BVT Gates, Association ITRS/IVRSA, several DIN committees, Beck’s commentsto VOB Part C, DIN 18358).In his activities as a journalist as the head of department of the major German professionaljournal in the field of windows, curtain walling and sun-protection, GLASWELT, he has beenthe author of various professional articles on different subject areas for the last 20 years.Mr. Voegele will be in charge of the fields of roller shutters, gates and sun protection in thefuture.
