PROFESIONALISME SEBAGAI SARANA PENCEGAHAN

“PREVENTABLE ADVERSE EVENTS” DAN TUNTUTAN HUKUM

• Seorang ibu melahirkan bayinya di sebuah RS 1 dibantu oleh bidan.

• Sore harinya bayi dikonsulkan ke SpA, dan dinyatakan sehat. Esok harinya dipulangkan.

• Pagi hari ke-3, bayi kembali ke RS 1 karena neneknya menyadari bahwa bayi tidak memiliki anus. Sore harinya bayi baru dirujuk ke RS lain untuk pembedahan.

• Bayi diterima RS 2 dalam keadaan lemah, merintih, perut tegang. Bayi meninggal 2 hari pasca bedah.

• SpA dan RS dituntut karena kelalaian

– SOP: Bayi baru lahir tidak harus ditolong SpA– Ternyata bidan/perawat yang menolong

PROFESI• A profession is any group sharing a

Professionalism• Professionalism is the basis of medicine's

contract with society. • It demands placing the interests of patients

above those of the physician, setting and maintaining standards of competence and integrity, and providing expert advice to society on matters of health.

• Essential to this contract is public trust in physicians, which depends on the integrity of both individual physicians and the whole profession
