the gondolaThe 945 metre austrian doppelmayer Gondola gently lifts visitors, in the comfort and safety of four person cabins, to the top of the Port Hills, almost 500 metres (1500’) above sea level.
Walking & BikingUse the Gondola to access the many walking and biking tracks on the hills above Christchurch.
Walking tracks include the Crater Rim Walkway and the famous Bridle Path. as from 1 december, for a small fee, you can hook your bike onto the Gondola cabins and transport it to the top of mt Cavendish, where numerous trails await.
Gondola ShuttleOur direct shuttle service to the Gondola operates in the summer only from 1 November – 31 march. it departs from outside the i-Site visitor Centre and Canterbury museum on Rolleston avenue at the following times: 9.40am, 10.40am, 11.40am, 12.40pm, 1.50pm, 2.40pm, 3.40pm and 4.40pm.
