6. Located near a windy city, this club has been the site of two PGA Championship wins by Tiger Woods, three U.S. Opens, the Ryder Cup in 2012 and the BMW Championship in 2019.

7. With a mountain range as a backdrop, the par-3 16th hole at this course features one of the loudest and largest gatherings of golf fans anywhere on the PGA TOUR. Phil Mickelson, who played his college golf in this state, has won the TOUR tournament here three times.

8. Although it shares the same name with a historic course in Scotland, this course founded by Jack Nicklaus plays host to his annual PGA TOUR event, The Memorial Tournament Presented by Nationwide. It has also hosted a Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup.

9. This Empire State course offers the warning – “The Black Course Is An Extremely Difficult Course Which We Recommend Only For Highly Skilled Golfers” – and has played host to the U.S. Open, PGA Championship, and FedExCup playoff events in 2012 and 2016.

10. One of the oldest country clubs in the U.S. can be found in one of the original 13 colonies and was the site of 20-year-old Francis Ouimet’s 1913 U.S. Open win. It also hosted the “Battle of Brookline” 1999 Ryder Cup.
