Here we are midway through the month of July and the weather is
either Hot and sweltering or raining, bringing the bugs out. Please
be careful of the various diseases associated with the mosquitoes,
ticks or any other bug.
Our Chapter Director and I have located another source for
obtaining our Chapter shirts. We will discuss this at length at our
upcoming monthly meeting.
We had 6 members come out and enjoy the Ice Cream at the
Dreamette. The following day 3 members enjoyed the ride and a
great breakfast at Red Frog and McToads on A1A in Crescent
Beach. 3 members attended FL1-X gathering (Double Points
Night) Geo. Bird won a door prize. 9 members met up at Bob
Evan's restaurant for the Chapter planning meeting. Please
remember this is your Chapter and your presence input are very
valuable to the chapter. Our next Planning meeting is on the 2nd of
August.
Our Chapter staff is looking for Volunteers to fill 4 key
positions: Member Enhancement, Motorist Awareness, Ways and
Means (50-25-25), and Sunshine Coordinator
Please let either the Chapter Director or Assistant Chapter Director
know if you are interested in one of these positions. We want to
make this a Fun and Exciting experience for all members.

As y’all know and feel, it’s getting down right HOT out. So hot that many riders that have a
windshield vents are closing them to shut off that normally cool air. I know we all would like to dress
cooler with less material on but doing so may make the ride nicer but not necessarily as safe. Dressing
with lighter colors and a durable mesh material to allow airflow in but keep the sun out would be the
best thing. Remember we still dress for the crash not the ride. Just saying use your common sense.
With that, I just want to remind everyone to stay “Hydrated” and if ya run outta juice while on a ride,
let someone know so that we can make a stop and refill, hey ya never know someone else may be out
also but uncomfortable saying so. Let’s not take the chance, speak up so that everyone has an
enjoyable ride.
Talking about “Speaking Up” I would like to see someday (maybe a course/seminar taught) that when
equipped with speaking capable co-rider that they control the calls off the bike. I’m talking about
normal lead and tail gunner position calls. When those positions are 2up, the driver controls safety of
the bike and the co-rider make all calls when directed by the driver that the tasks are safe to call, with
the exception of heads up calls, things in the roadway or safety issues or such. I know that means
some would have to get devices that allow the co-riders that ability to talk outside the bike zone but
that’s good. It’ll allow them to get more involved on the bike, make the ride more enjoyable for ‘em.
Instead of just sitting back there trying to read a book or worse sleeping. Heck why else did we get
headsets and mikes for them? Hey let’s get our co-riders more involved in the ride, maybe they’ll ride
more often and longer with us, besides that extra set of safety eyes and that comfort of knowing were
doing this together makes it so much better, at least that’s my thoughts.
I’d like to thank all those that BRAVED the updated Medic/First Aid/AED course we had back on
June 17th. It was quite the “WORKOUT” as the new parameters were introduced. That’s why I can’t
stress enough that more off us should be qualified, well congratulations to those that recertified/
renewed. So enjoy the ride, keep the rubber side down.
Have fun and ride safe,

The Cooking Corner
Have you ever had one of those long lunch rides and when you get home you just want a quick and easy
bite to eat. We have your solution.
Pizza English Muffins
This quick and easy recipe is great when you want pizza
hut don't want the cost and when you may just want
a snack.
Ingredients:
Package of English muffins
Roll of pork sausage
Mozzarella cheese
Pizza sauce
Cook the English muffins and put on a cookie sheet.
Cook the sausage in the frying pan and break into small pieces (I use a food chopper),
Place 1-2 teaspoons of pizza sauce on each muffin
Add 1-2 teaspoons of sausage on top of sauce
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top
Melt cheese in broiler for about 3-4 minutes
I also use pepperoni sometimes, just place on top of cheese
Delicious :)
