Goldenleaf King Victor Huntsman looked down to the battlefield clasping a steel sword in his right hand. Victor looked down at the weapon, slowly running the tip of his fingers enveloped in thick chain gauntlets along the bloodied blade. Victor begins to make quick strides up to a corpse on the desolate battlefield; bending a knee to get a closer look before he hastily rips cloth off the dead body. He glides the hand with the cloth in it along the steel frame of the sword, wiping the blood off the weapon and chucking the cloth away. He stands up. Blood. It meant nothing to him anymore. Across these last couple of years he had to come accustom to the taste of it, the smell of it – and the colour of it. Many of his men have had to shed their own blood to keep the piece in the valley, as it was the sole entrance to Goldenleaf – King Victor’s sole city that peasants have slaved to create. A loud horn plays in the distance, waking the King up from his moment. He quickly turns around startled and frowning. “The battle is over, we’ve won.” says Prince Samuel Huntsman. His hands beginning to move up to his face to unbind the helmet from the back, taking it off and clasping it between his hands. “And what of the casualties Samuel?” King Victor rebuttles quickly. “Both sides have suffered greatly Father – an estimated 24,000 men lay dead in this very valley, many of them our own…” says Samuel now with a small frown. “Then do not call this a victory son. There will be no victories until we win this war, we need more men and we need… Bob Good.” Victor interrupts. “Father, Bob Good has gone missing for years now and he is presumed dead. There is no way we’ll be able to find hi-” says Samuel, getting cut off. “That’s an order son, you will carry out the search mission for Bob Good and until you bring me his corpse I say that the man is still alive. You will travel to Lakeside with 150 Goldenleaf knights and link up with Lord Nigma. Go!” says Victor with a large amount of intensity. Samuel Huntsman does a quick subtle nod to the King as he quickly turns around and issuing the men that are charged to come with him. He walks to his steed, mounting himself onto the saddle. “Move out!” Samuel yells to his men as they follow in close pursuit with him at the front of the searching party.

King Victor Huntsman looked down to the battlefield clasping a steel sword in his right hand. Victor

looked down at the weapon, slowly running the tip of his fingers enveloped in thick chain gauntlets

along the bloodied blade. Victor begins to make quick strides up to a corpse on the desolate

battlefield; bending a knee to get a closer look before he hastily rips cloth off the dead body.

He glides the hand with the cloth in it along the steel frame of the sword, wiping the blood off the

weapon and chucking the cloth away. He stands up.

    Blood.

It meant nothing to him anymore. Across these last couple of years he had to come accustom to the

taste of it, the smell of it and the colour of it. Many of his men have had to shed their own blood to

keep the piece in the valley, as it was the sole entrance to Goldenleaf King Victors sole city that

    peasants have slaved to create.

A loud horn plays in the distance, waking the King up from his moment. He quickly turns around

    startled and frowning.

The battle is over, weve won. says Prince Samuel Huntsman. His hands beginning to move up to

his face to unbind the helmet from the back, taking it off and clasping it between his hands.

And what of the casualties Samuel? King Victor rebuttles quickly.

Both sides have suffered greatly Father an estimated 24,000 men lay dead in this very valley,

many of them our own says Samuel now with a small frown.

Then do not call this a victory son. There will be no victories until we win this war, we need more

men and we need Bob Good. Victor interrupts.

Father, Bob Good has gone missing for years now and he is presumed dead. There is no way well

be able to find hi- says Samuel, getting cut off.

Thats an order son, you will carry out the search mission for Bob Good and until you bring me his

corpse I say that the man is still alive. You will travel to Lakeside with 150 Goldenleaf knights and link

up with Lord Nigma. Go! says Victor with a large amount of intensity.

Samuel Huntsman does a quick subtle nod to the King as he quickly turns around and issuing the

men that are charged to come with him. He walks to his steed, mounting himself onto the saddle.

Move out! Samuel yells to his men as they follow in close pursuit with him at the front of the

    searching party.

The exhausted King arrives at the grand gates of Goldenleaf surrounded by his Royal Escort of

Knights and the remanding men of the Goldenleaf Border Guard trailing behind. The large steel

portcullises are raised by the Gate bearer with a loud creek and the men start to march inside the

city as citizens both upper and lower class cheer the heroes coming through.

Victor grumpily shouts loudly at the citizens. Citizens of Goldenleaf, today we have fought a battle

and we have paid a great toll for it. Do you not see the remainder of our Border Guard?! Take a good

look, for that is what is left.

The crowd quickly shifts their eyes to the few thousand men that remain of the Guard and

instantaneously become silent. This makes the rest of the Guard return to their post or head home

putting them all in a quiet mood that makes the previously cheerful citizens saddened at the loss of

    family members in the retinue.

Victor approaches his own home which is the Grand Keep of Goldenleaf. The Huntsmen house guard

immediately grant him passage into his home and Victor quickly ascends up to his chambers and

starts calling for his squire. Victor sits in silence for a few moments as he waits for his squire to arrive

    into his royal quarters.

Leonardo Adams; which is the squire to the King is let into the room by the Kings Guard. Victor

quickly instructs him to help remove his armour.

Loosen my armour up squire and make sure you do it quick I am not in a very patient mood. he

    says impatiently.

Leonardo gives a small nod to acknowledge the Kings word; too frightened to open his mouth to

speak he complies, loosening the hinges of the intricate steel design. After a couple minutes he

completes the job, placing the armour onto the stand and staring at the King waiting for orders.

Victor lets out a hard-drawn sigh. Thank you squire, you may go home now and get some rest. He

says without giving direct eye contact to Leonardo.

Leonardo gives a quick and curt nod, rushing out of the room to get out of the intimidating gaze of

    the King.

Victor walks up to the table and picks up a small golden goblet alongside a jug of Wine. He grasps

the cold handle of the jug and pours it into the goblet. He places the jug back onto the table and

approaches the small cut out window in his quarters, taking a large sip from the goblet. He laughs to

himself as he looks down on the city of Goldenleaf, murmuring to himself.

If only they knew the doom that was about to descend upon us all.

  • He walks back over to the table, quickly downing the rest of the dark liquid. Upon finishing it he

slams the gold goblet back down onto the table.

Victor stretches his arms out getting used to his freedom without the restrictive armour. He tiredly

heads towards his large decorated bed in the corner of the room lit brightly by the small candle

stand next to it. He quickly lies down onto the bed and tucks himself under the preciously woven silk

sheets and sighs realising he hadnt cleaned his face from blood. He uncaringly blows out the candle

light and the room slowly succumbs to darkness.

Prince, sir. The scout reports that Lord Nigma has been captured by one of our allies. says Ser

Damor, the second command in the retinue.

An ally that captures Lord Nigma is no longer an ally of Goldenleaf. says the Prince as he shifts his

head to the side to look at the Knight. Damor, who has done this treacherous act? Prince Samuel

    continues with a fierce tone.

Lord Sully of Lakeview Heights. Damor answers.

Lakeview Heights? What is going on here Damor? queries the Prince.

Lakeside is no longer a recognized town sir. They have rebelled against Lord Nigma and they now

recognize themselves as citizens of Lakeview following Lord Sully. replied Damor.

Not for long they wont. I have a plan; we will attack under the cover of darkness and when they

open their front gate. the Young Prince states.
