Individual solutions for every industry and line-of-business requirement

Whether for one’s own use or for renting out: Every Client has his own exact requirements regarding the building. It has to be able to take customised concepts into account but also allow for and provide flexible usage possibilities in the future. The GOLDBECK system combines both: It unites basic concepts for industrial buildings with the individual requirements of the particular user, which can be added on – even as later alterations. From a simple building to complex production sites all the way up to large-scale logistics buildings and shopping centres we create – using the modular design principle – new building variants again and again. And even specialised real estate, for example in the fields of frozen food logistics and clean-room technology, are quickly and economically achievable with the GOLDBECK system. Your spatial requirements – perfectly taken care of

For those working in logistics, speed is of the essence. And this is equally valid for the building phase. Thanks to sys-temised processes and building components GOLDBECK designs, plans and builds very quickly. We have incorpo-rated those features that define those working in logistics – reliability, flexibility, safety and cost-effectiveness. We know our business and the trade. That is why we build with adequate space for efficient transport, selection, pick-ing and storage of goods, and this with largely column free spaces. We take into account the special requirements of our customers when it comes to building automation and exactly customise our buildings for the handling of goods – for example with regard to automatic storage and trans-port installations or the loading technology as an interface between the building and the truck. This ensures that the flow of your goods is both smooth and efficient.

Exact fit for all processes

Industrial companies need spaces that can be moulded around their individual production processes like a made to measure suit. The machine installation layout and the planned flow of goods determine the dimensions, facilities and equipment of the building. At the same time industrial buildings have to be flexible when it comes to changes in use or extensions – for example, when the production pro-cess is restructured. GOLDBECK systems allow for this, both quickly and in an uncomplicated manner. This is also true for the retrofitting or the extension of existing build-ings. GOLDBECK systems ensure cost-efficient solutions and optimise the existing structure. Lattice supporting structures and tailored lighting create a clearly lit, open atmosphere. In addition, robust and wear-resistant floors and surfaces are well-adjusted to the specialised require-ments of production units.

02Everyone knows the “puzzle effect”: When all individual parts fit together, you get a coherent overall picture. The same applies to the GOLDBECK system. Its components are manufactured in-house, in our own plants, in large num-bers and to controlled quality standards. They are opti-mally harmonised and can therefore be quickly assembled on site.

The systematisation, however, runs deeper than this: It encompasses repeatable basic grids that on the one hand allow for the possibility of speedy construction and on the other hand allow for flexibility to give every individual client the most cost-effective solution – taking full account of the intended utilisation purpose. The basic form of the rectangular bay is adaptable and can be extended as an angle or as a U shape. It allows for wider distances between the columns and therefore ensures the highest level of flexibility.

Supporting structure

Safety with steel and concrete

The supporting structure is the heart of every industrial building. It ensures safety and stability, even with high loads – for example due to snow. GOLDBECK structural engineers and stress analysts calculate the optimum inter-action of span width, load and column spacing for every type of building in order to find the most cost-effective solution. Whether it has a basic roof, the integration of building services engineering at beam level or the fitting of high-performance crane systems, the structure will be designed and installed to enable efficient and cost-effec-tive construction.

Closely interwoven with the supporting structure is the foundation as an interface between the actual building and the ground. For every project GOLDBECK develops an all-encompassing, comprehensive concept which is custom-ised for each property. Included are the preparatory work and the handling as well as treatment of the soil. This allows for the use of our system foundations and is there-fore particularly cost-effective.

Where required by the use of the building, we can provide specially engineered structural solutions.

Two of the many supporting structure variants available through the GOLDBECK system: On the left with precast concrete columns on a precast single concrete foundation, on the right with a steel column support on a site-mixed single concrete foundation. For every project the GOLDBECK expert planners take all parameters into account in order to calculate the appropriate design solution – for example, the subsoil conditions, the height and load of the building, the required clear span width and the transport distances for the system elements.

Roof

Protection, safety and space for renewable energy

A GOLDBECK roof has it all. It is not just the fact that it protects the building as well as the interior from the ele-ments such as wind and weather, but that it also fulfils a range of other functions. Examples are heat insulation, soundproofing and drainage – GOLDBECK provides this with its low-cost and low-maintenance drainage system. Roofs are also ideal for the installation of a photovoltaic system: Many GOLDBECK clients have used their roof for this environmentally friendly power generation.

A green roof also has many advantages: In the summer it has a cooling effect, in the winter a heat insulating effect. It reduces the amount of waste water going into the sewer system as it partially buffers the precipitation coming down. It also has the effect of a protective layer for the roof covering and therefore extends its life cycle.

Façade variants

Dialogue between functionality and creativity

A good façade is more than just a cover for the building’s shell. It offers protection, it presents the company’s style to the outside world and has a large influence on the energy efficiency. It has to be long-lasting as well as flexible while allowing for future retrofits, conversions and modifica-tions. Here one can see the quality of GOLDBECK at work: We produce most façade elements in-house, ranging from steel and aluminium cassettes to glass façade construction. Depending upon the location, the function of the building and the architectural requirements, our designers can select from a wide range of forms and materials, they can let themselves be inspired and, in the end, give the build-ing a distinctive look with a completely matching yet indi-vidual variation. If so requested we can also plan and build the façades taking hygienic aspects into account that com-ply with the high standards set by the food industry.

Lighting

Natural light – good atmosphere

Some things become obvious only when they are missing. This is valid for good natural lighting. In order to avoid this situation, we integrate a customised natural lighting con-cept from the very early stages of overall planning –so as to achieve a bright, healthy and productive working environ-ment. We integrate ventilation and heat extraction func-tions into our various styles of glazed units so as to balance fresh air supply and temperature control with good natural lighting. Natural lighting schemes don’t just work in a func-tional manner but also have – on the interior as well as exte-rior – an important design role in that they can accentuate and highlight façades – depending on what the client wants. Examples are vertical as well as horizontal glazed strips; arcade roof lights with clear, ornamental or industrial glass panels, sky and dome lights or continuous rows of fibre-glass strips in the roof. In addition, large-scale mullion and transom façades can be installed and adjusted as required by the client.

It is most important that the planning of the building ser-vices is, from the very beginning of the planning process, an integral part of the planning of the project as a whole. We completely harmonise the services with all the func-tions of the building. Example: Transformer stations are placed near load centres, heat recovery systems are planned so that only short power routes are installed. We incorpo-rate the supply of water, heat, light, power, technical gases and fresh air for the building as required by how you want to use the building and by what makes the most sense and is cost-effective. The experience of our building manage-ment team is included from the very start of the planning stage.

Once operational GOLDBECK facilities management can – if so requested – take on the maintenance and servicing tasks, comparing – via remote access – forecasted values with actual consumption thereby helping to manage the operational costs.

Each individual sector of industry has its own specific requirements as does every machine technology. It does not matter if one is dealing with the manufacturing or storage of automotive parts, plastics, foods or pharmaceutical prod-ucts – our industrial buildings suit one and all. Background: GOLDBECK experts base their knowledge on experience gained in many lines of business. They know about instal-lation areas, supporting surfaces, maintenance spaces, power supply and assembly openings of machines. They know of the stringent requirements made of the floor including the load capabilities and the low flatness toler-ances. Systems with the most varied crane types – for example jib or slewing cranes, bracket or portal and gantry cranes – are optimised when it comes to installing these in GOLDBECK industrial buildings. The reason: It is the right equipment and facilities that first and foremost make a building efficient. Compressed air systems, mechanical components on doors, gates and windows or fittings for office space as well as staff and common rooms: With GOLDBECK you get a one-stop solution for all of these ele-ments without any interface-related losses occurring. By integrating a mezzanine one can make best use of the spatial volume of an industrial building. Mezzanines are frequently used as a location for offices.

Administrative areas, social areas and common rooms are often required. GOLDBECK can provide these areas as additional installa-tions or modifications, or as standalone accommodation, depending on your requirements.

Sustainability certificates make energy efficiency and the use of ecologically-sound building materials visible and comparable. If so requested we will gladly provide assistance and advise you during the certification process.

Energy concept

Think cost-effectively – act responsibly

Approximately twenty percent of the entire life-cycle cost of a building relates to the construction phase – eighty per-cent is operational cost. This calculation clearly shows that the cost-effectiveness of a building is decided in the planning stage.

Together with our clients we run through location-based specified variants and explain what the advantages and disadvantages are. When recommending, for example, a heating energy generation through the use of a combined heating and power unit or a wood chip heating system, GOLDBECK takes into account the planned uses of the building and draws up a long-term cost-effectiveness cal-culation. Thereby we work out the optimal solution for each and every project. Solar energy often plays an impor-tant role as the roofs provide the ideal locations for imple-menting photovoltaic systems. Our GOLDBECK solar spe-cialists are at your disposal with their extensive know-how.

Using energy Waste heat that is generated in production areas can be used to heat offices, common rooms and staff rooms.

Saving energy Roof, wall and floor insulation is harmonised with the use of the building to reduce heating loss and thereby help to achieve more energy efficiency.

Generating energy At GOLDBECK we offer a co- ordinated solution regarding the buildings and photovoltaic systems. The Sunovation system has been adjusted for use with the hall roof structure.

Consistent high quality at all times – through in-house production

A building is more than the sum of its parts. However, its quality as a whole depends on the quality of each and every individual system component. GOLDBECK builds using mainly industrially manufactured and systemised build-ing elements that it produces in-house. At our plants in Bielefeld, Hamm, Treuen and Kutna Hora / CZ we produce steel, aluminium and concrete building components. The production conditions are the same everywhere all the time and have been set down in a detailed manner. We manufacture components of a consistently very high qual-ity that only have to be assembled on-site. Weather influ-ences or quality fluctuations are thereby eliminated.
