It’s a phrase that you hear so often, you can often wonder what it really means. For ddrum, we have spent time looking back at our last 13 years and evaluating what we have accomplished. Our original goal was to bring drummers unique designs with a boutique feel. We have experimented with wood types and combinations, as well as shell hardware and mounting systems. For 2018, our goal is to apply what we have learned to our most popular and tried and true innovations. Going back to our roots, while putting some new ones down.

The Second Coming... ddrum is proud to reintroduce Dios maple. ddrum’s flagship maple drum line returns with its classic look and feel plus a few of the innovations we’ve picked up along the way. Featuring our original Dios maple shell and our thunderous 20” deep bass drums, ddrum is ready to take the maple drum world by storm again. New features include our upgraded FixtPitch mounting system and Resolift bass drum isolation system. Non-drilled bass drums are standard, with 3 new configurations to choose from, as well as add-on drums...to build the maple kit of your dreams. Available in 4 lacquered, stage-ready finishes. Dios, a true revelation in sound.

Bass drum claw w/rubber inserts: A small but crucial detail. Keeps the claws from marring the hoop, and also allows vertical positioning of the drum for storage or head changes...all without scratching the front of the hoops.

20” deep bass drums: An original ddrum design, resurrected by popular demand. The biggest sounding bass drums in our line, providing maximum tone and projection.

Evans heads included Standard clear two-ply heads on all toms, two ply coated on snares and a single ply with control ring on all bass drums. Heads made for ddrum by Evans in Taiwan.

North American maple shells: The drumming standard. Thin, resonant maple shells, featuring a sturdy cross-laminated design; eliminating the need for reinforcement rings and providing perfect resonance.

Bullet tube lugs: All Dios drums feature chrome plated hardware, including our original bullet tube lug. Toms feature sturdy 2.3mm triple flanged hoops.

30/45 degree bearing edge: A Dios standard. An edge that allows the drumhead to seat, while also allowing the shell to vibrate at its maximum. This edge allows for a more woody tone, a perfect match to our thin maple shells.

Fixtpitch mounts: The Fixtpitch mount is as functional as it is beautiful. This simple but elegant design allows the mount to be connected to the outside of the lug, not directly to the shell. Fixtpitch holds the drum securely, avoiding pitch bend, or interference with projection and tone.

Resolift: Specially designed lugs that accommodate a rubber lift. Allows for more stability as well as enhanced low end and resonance. Also, prevents the drum from resting on the finish.

ddrum’s continued evolution finds us looking back for snare drum inspiration. To coincide with the re-release

of the Dios series, we are also updating three of its most popular snares. Two unique metal drums and one wood drum make up this stunning line. Offering great balance of attack and body, each snare represents the pinnacle of usable, modern sounding tone.

DIOS SNARES

ddrum’s original bronze shelled snare, updated for today. Featuring a random-hammered pattern on the shell to perfectly dry out the overtones on this bronze beauty. Full-shell bullet tube lugs and die cast hoops make this a roadworthy addition to our metal snare arsenal. The perfect metal snare sound.

A maple snare that is more than a pretty face. A thick 8 ply 8mm maple shell, finished in a stunning zebra finish. The thicker than normal maple shell design provides superior cut, while retaining all of the woody overtones that one desires from a maple drum. Full-shell bullet tube lugs, a parallel strainer and die cast hoops round out this stunning package.

The ultimate live snare. Shell thickness is a heavy gauge of 3mm steel, finished in mirrored chrome with chrome hardware. The drum features sturdy, full-shell bullet tube lugs as well as a smooth parallel snare throw off and die cast hoops. Easily the loudest drum in the line and guaranteed to cut through the loudest band, while also retaining snare sensitivity to the edge.

REFLEX RED Reflex has been the torchbearer series for ddrum since it’s 2010 introduction. A mid-level kit that offered more than some other companies’ pro series. We have taken Reflex to many extremes. Reflex Red embodies the original ddrum aesthetic. Offering sizes that feel more custom with a look unlike most kits in its class. REFLEX ELT The top of the Reflex series, Reflex ELT represents the pinnacle of the line. High-gloss lacquer is applied to the drums in one of three transparent finishes. The drums are accented by chrome hardware making them visually stunning in a number of musical settings. The core 5pc configuration can be expanded upon with toms, and bass drums, for a customizable drum set experience. Drums that look as good as they sound.
