Possibilities for MA Anthropology
MA Anthropology students have
2 possibilities to stay a semester abroad
during the MA programme:
o a semester abroad during the 1st
semester of the second year of the
programme (= regular exchange
programme) OR
o a 5th semester abroad after completing
the MA programme (= additional master
semester abroad programme)

Semester Abroad
What? How? Where?
What is an additional MA semester?
o An additional semester abroad immediately
after having finished all of the requirements
(except for the MA thesis) of the MA program at
the Faculty of Social Sciences
o You are registered at KU Leuven during the
semester abroad; you re-register for the same
MA programme for next academic year
o You graduate only after having completed the
semester abroad (at the earliest in June of next
academic year)
Who can apply?
• Students of these MA programmes:
Anthropology, Communicatie, DMaS,
Bedrijfscommunicatie, VIP, MIP, MOB, Sociologie,
Journalistiek, Sociaal Werk,
NOT CADES, MAES, MEPP, PIONEER
• If you already did an Erasmus exchange during your BA,
you can also apply.
• You need to have passed all courses of the MA programme
prior to departure, except for the MA thesis

course offer, the academic calendar, the cost of
living,… etc -> website of the host university

exchange students
