Youth Red Cross is functioning since 2010-11 by conducting various programmes relating to health and hygiene and charitable activities to sensitise young girls of the college. Under Youth Red Cross health awareness programme was organized. The Chief Guest of this function, Dr. Saroja Biradar, talked about the problems of health and precautionary measures and also about the problems of women health like arthritis, cancer, bone density etc.

Hundi Collections entitled “Join Hands” “Haath Milaao” “Kai Jodisu” a scheme of

needy funds used financing education of under privileged and poor students and for

disaster management of natural calamities like earthquake, floods, drought, cyclone

etc.

This fund is also used for needy members like financially week, suffering from ill health etc.

Proposals:-

We, as a women’s college believe not just in providing education but we believe in

empowering our students with the upgraded knowledge, contemporary skills to

survive in this competitive world.

Keeping this in mind we have been inviting personalities who surprised everyone by

their extraordinary commitment, confidence and urge to make this difference.

Smt.Mahadevi, popularly known as, Rotti Mahadevi is one such lady, who under

adverse situations, led an inspirational life.

We have proposed to invite Smt, Mahadevi to our college to inspire our students.

Shri. Lakkappa, Regional Officer, Fire Station, Kalaburagi, spoke about the firework

safety, instructions and precautions of fireworks and also about fire protection tips.

Shri. Parashuram, District Officer of Fire Station Kalaburagi, delivered a lecture

about the disaster management of the fire and a demonstrated drill of fire disaster

management along with their staff.

Blood Donation Camp on 2013-14 & 2015-16

On the eve of 30th death anniversary of Parama Poojya Doddappa Appa a

Blood Donation Camp was jointly organized by Sports Dept, N.S.S & Youth

Red Cross on 13th September 2013.The Blood Bank Officer of Basaveshwar

Hospital Gulbarga Dr.Shivakumar Inamdar in his inaugural address said that

Godutai Women’s College was the First Women’s College to organize

the Camp in Hyderabad Karnataka Region.He acknowledged special

thanks to the President Poojya Dr Sharanbasawappa Appaji, faculty &

students of the institution. The faculty, Dr.Seema Patil & 30 students donated

blood on this occasion. The program was held with the kind cooperation of

Head of the Dept of Blood Bank Dr. Shivanand Devaramani and their team.

The donor Kum. Mangala’s fresh blood was immediately transfused to a

lady patient.

Dr.Neelambika Sherikar expressed presidential remarks Physical Director Smt

Janaki Hosur, N.S.S.Officers Dr.Siddamma Guded,Sri N.S. Hugar,& other

faculty & students were present.

On the eve of the 43rd death anniversary of Poojya Matoshri Godutai

Doddappa Appa a Blood Donation Camp was jointly organized by Sports

Dept, Youth Red Cross, Health Centre & N.S.S on 16th March 2016.The Blood

Bank Director of Basaveshwar Hospital Kalaburagi Dr.Rajesh Patil in his

inaugural address said about Blood Donation and its importance .He

acknowledged special thanks to the President Poojya Dr Sharanbasawappa

Appaji, faculty & students of the institution. The faculty, Shri N S Hugar& 30

students donated blood on this occasion. The program was held with the kind

cooperation of Director of Blood Bank Dr. Rajesh Patil and their team.
