Sometimes the steps are giant leaps; at times we seem to grow exponentially while at other times our walk consists of baby steps. Honestly, sometimes our progress is halted, or we may even appear to go backwards. We can be mature in one area of our Christian walk, and still be a beginner in other areas. God simply desires us to take the next step with him. If we consider ourselves a beginner at prayer, commit to pray more. If we want to become a generous giver, begin giving now even if it isn’t a tithe. If we want to be a student of the Bible, begin studying now. If our life isn’t characterized by service, find a place to serve now. God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is at work to help us make progress. We don’t strive alone, for God wants to recreate his image inside of every one of us. What is needed is a willing heart to trust him and then “just take the next step” with him. Each year, St. Paul enters a time of consecration. The idea is not to produce guilt of what we don’t do, but to discern what we can do in Christ. We believe God blesses the world through his people, the Church. Therefore, we, as members of the body of Christ, seek to participate with him in redeeming the world. Because St. Paul has a part in the redemption of the world, we pull together our talents, gifts, and resources so that we can do more together than we can do as individuals. In the end, we all have a part to play in ministry. Consider how you can participate with God in establishing his kingdom on earth.

There are three upcoming Home Fellowships which will give you an opportunity to meet St. Paul’s new Senior Pastor, Shane Green. BR and Helen Johnson on Oct 23 at 6:30 pm and Sandy Coolik on Oct 25 at 12 noon, have joined several St. Paul members to host receptions at their homes. There will also be one in the St. Paul Fellowship Hall on Tuesday Oct 30, at 6:00 pm. These fellowships will give Shane an opportunity to meet St. Paul members in a casual setting. It will also give him some insight into the pulse of our ministries. In that regard, Shane will be posing the following 3 questions to each group – please consider how you would answer these questions. These sessions will be a great time for us to reflect on what God has done, is doing, and will continue to do in the life of our church.

    Three Questions

    1. Why do you come to St. Paul?

    2. What is the one ministry that you feel exemplifies St. Paul?

    3. If you had unlimited resources (time, money and people) what would be the first thing you would do at St. Paul?

Dress casually, light refreshments will be served, and a nursery will be provided by reservation only. Space is limited. If you would like to attend, R.S.V.P. to 706.327.7419 or email [email protected]

Three Questions 1.
