THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD MAY 31, 2020
Our Lady of Victory continues to follow the Diocese of Columbus Safe Environment Program which states all volunteers, age 18 years or older, are to complete a Protecting God’s Children session and have a background check (BCI&I Report) done prior to working with children. This includes programs such as VBS, Religious Ed, CLOW, Youth Group, Children’s Choir, etc. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many people who volunteer so unselfishly in our Parish. To register for this PGC session or if you are interested in working with our young people, please visit our website – ourladyofvictory.cc – UNDER “Our Parish” - and there are instructions on how to register at Virtus.org and also where to get a BCI&I background check done. If you have any questions on either step, please email Pat Fulcher at [email protected].
2019 Giving Statements will be emailed or mailed upon request. Please contact the Parish Office. The deadline for Tax Filing has been extended from April 15 to July 15. Please make your requests in a timely manner, preferably before July.
Pope Francis’ Monthly Intentions 2019-20June – The Way of the Heart (of Jesus)
Welcome Back! I know we have all missed sharing Mass together at Our Lady of Victory. The Mass is at the center of our Catholic Faith and sharing in the Eucharist is one of our special blessings. Due to the Carona Virus, my own age and medical condition, I will be delaying my return to Our Lady of Victory. In the days ahead, I will be offering a daily Mass at my home, and will be remembering all of you at Mass. May God bless all of you and keep you safe.
~Father Missimi
FROM THE PASTOR • Due to requests from parishioners, the days of Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament have been
extended through May 29. The hours of Reposition are 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Please feel free to visit and pray during these times respecting “safe distancing” if others are there when you are.
• The dispensation from the Obligation to attend Sunday Mass has been extended by Bishop Brennan through September 13.
• THE RETURN TO MASS: OLV will resume its regular schedule of public weekend Sunday Masses the weekend of May 30/31, the Solemnity of Pentecost.
• This opening weekend will be preceded by five days of a “soft opening” with celebration of daily Mass beginning on May 25, Memorial Day, at various times. See the Mass times under “Mass Intentions.”
• Of course, this can only take place with the necessary safety/sanitation precautions in place. We are working on those details. Seating will be limited and designated, following COVID precautions/procedures. Details will be in next week’s bulletin and on the website by next weekend. We ask everyone over the age of 2 who comes to Church for Mass to PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MASK AND PUT IT ON AS YOU LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE AND KEEP IT ON UNTIL YOU RETURN TO YOUR VEHICLE. Hand sanitizers are at the Church entrances. For Mass you will enter the front doors on Roxbury Road only.
• It is also important to note that if you are at risk because of age or other health factors or have symptoms of COVID 19, YOU SHOULD NOT BE COMING TO CHURCH.
• Despite the cessation of publicly celebrated Masses and parish/church events since March, the parish has continued to function physically and fiscally by paying bills such as utilities, salaries, insurance, payroll taxes and maintaining the parish buildings and grounds. All this has been done with a fraction of normal weekly contributions. If you have not been able to donate during this time, please consider “catching up” or making your contribution by sending a check to the parish or giving by electronic means. You can go to our website: ourladyofvictory.cc. and give on line; credit cards are accepted. Thank You!

Registration: Registering in a parish is a declaration of your desire to be a part of a Catholic community and a commitment to the life of the parish family. We are often asked to provide affidavits for parishioners’ standings. We can only do this if a person is a registered, active and contributing member in our parish.
Participation: As a member of your Parish, you are accepting the responsibility of weekly worship as well as supporting God’s work here through giving of yourself, your time and talents, and a worthy Sunday offering to show your love of God and your gratitude for His many favors and blessings.
