1. Rock of HelpEbenezer (Stone of Help) shows

that God is our help in times of need. Nothing we need is beyond His ability!

The Stone of Help is shown in ritual stones of the Old Testament transformed in the New Testament.◦Altars (1 Kings 18:30-33; Exod 20:25)◦The Law or Torah (Exod 24:12; 34:1; Jer

31:31-34, cf. 2 Cor 3:3)◦The Temple (Exod 31:5; 1 Kings 6:36)◦Memorials (Josh 4:1-7; Gen 28:22; 31:45)

2. Rock of ProvisionGod is our only Provider. One of His names is Jehovah Jireh because

He provides for us.Our provision does not come through

human beings or our own resources.Sometimes God must take us to the end of

our rope to learn to come to Him for our needs.

Jesus is our first provision, the spiritual need of every human being before any other need, and God took care of that need first!

Answers: Need, Spiritually

3. Rock of StrengthGod is our Refuge and our

Fortress. He fights the battles that we cannot.

God is our Stronghold to whom we run when we need Him to defend us.

God is the stronghold, the mighty tower that protects and defends us from our enemies.

God is the foundational rock that establishes us by His Word and by His Spirit.

4. Rock of SalvationJesus is the all-knowing rock

of wisdom (Zech 3:6-10)The Messiah will have perfect

counsel. Any time we need wisdom, Jesus gives the best!

Jesus is the Stone that the builders rejected (1 Peter 2:6-8)

Ignoring Jesus only compounds our problems in life.

5. Rock of HolinessGod builds His holy dwelling out

of our transformed holinessAll believers are individual stones, used as

material to glorify God in His great dwelling, the temple of the believer’s body, and the temple of the Church corporate.

God sees His believers as precious while they live holy lifestyles

The true gem to God is the believer who draws near to God at all times.

God thinks you’re pretty (or handsome)!
