SECTION VIEW BRANDING The I AM Center, a vocational day facility, caters to adults diagnosed on the autistic spectrum who would like to receive social, psychological, educational and employment support services. The puzzle piece center logo is our connectivity with the broader Autism Speaks organization. GOAL Each individual that walks through the doors seeking assistance, can expect a warm friendly environment with a pragmatic therapeutic approach to their individualized needs including that of their family member(s). FUNCTIONALITY Each individual that walks through the doors receive valuable counseling, pragmatic guidance maneuvering through day to day living activities, and provided educational, career and job training relative to cognitive and physical abilities. ACCESSIBILTY The I AM design group has chosen the Mid-County area of St. Charles MO, as the location for the new I AM Center due to its central location, community sociability, easy access to parks, land space, assistance from the local YMCA as well as other supporting non- profit organizations and local businesses in the community. CONCEPT Conceptually, the I AM center is designed with a curvilinear flow that subtly projects movement throughout the building. Natural light is guided through the space by clerestory windows, while multitextured surfaces provide tactile and visual interest. Noise control is buffered by felt acoustical rafters in the sensory space, while other rooms allow for exploration and social interactions. ATMOSPHERE The center strives to create a controlled yet stimulating environment that is sensory friendly. SENSORY INTEGRATION SPACE

Clerestory windows have electronic blinds within the panes to help control the flood of natural light.

Portable padded room dividers provide privacy and can be moved quickly where needed.

FilzFelt suspended ceiling panels and baffles are installed to increase sound absorption while providing visual interest.

A soothing painted mural and tone on tone blue color scheme, scientifically helps in minimizing overstimulation.

Weighted pillows provide a sense of security.

Modular furniture can accommodate varied seating arrangements.

Vestibular Swing for adults

I AM logo symbolizes the vision and values of the institute.

ADA compliant unisex restrooms for visitors ensures quick access for basic needs.

Acoustical gypsum ceiling tiles are installed for maximum noise reduction and minimize audio overstimulation.

Blue color scheme is visually consistent throughout the I AM Center and is soothing for consumers and visitors.

Art work created by the consumer encourages conversation and proud moments.

Welcoming front desk is open and approachable.
