Goa: An Introduction
Goa is the smallest state in the Republic of India. Synonymous with tourism in India, Goa remains as one of
the most visited destination of India. Goa is blessed in terms of topographical beauty as it has the vast Arabian
Sea on its west.
History
Goa is one of the Indian states that remained under
colonial rule for a period of over 451 years. It was in 1962 that Goa attained complete freedom from the Portuguese and in 1987 it was pronounced as
an independent state of India.
Tourism
Goa by far is among the most frequented tourist destination in India. Considered as the hottest tourist
destination in the country, this state witnesses huge influx of travelers from India as well as abroad.
