25th September, 2018

Legal Literacy camp was organized by Taluka Legal Services Committee,

Quepem-Goa on 25th September, 2018 at Village Panchayat Hall, Morpirlla,

Quepem-Goa. Sarpanch of Village Panchayat Morpirlla addressed the welcome

speech and introduced the resource person Adv. Ms. Roopa Prabhu Dessai and

Adv. Anjita Dessai. Adv. Roopa Prabhudessai gave the inspirarional talk on Rights

of the arrested person under Cr. P. C. and the Constitution of India and also on

the Legal Aid and NALSA schemes and the benefits.

Adv. Anjita Dessai Spoke on Protection of Womens under Domestic Violence Act

and the Maintenance Act.

After the completion of the talk of both Advocates, people asked questions to

which both the resource person replied and satisfied the people. Around 58

people participated for the programme and the camp was concluded at 5.00 pm.

25th September, 2018

Legal Literacy Camp was conducted on 25th September, 2018 at the premises of Miracles High School,

Khairikati, Sanguem Goa, by Taluka Legal Services Authority, Sanguem. The Camp started at 10.00 am.

Adv. Miss Abhilasha Naik spoke on Free Legal Aid Services and disclosed the main functions of the scheme

which is to provide free and competent Legal Services to the weaker section of the society as per their

entitlement as categorized in section 12 of the Legal services Authority Act. She also informed about the

organization of Lok Adalat/ NLA for amicable settlement of disputes, to create Legal awareness about the

rights of the weaker and marginalized sections of the society and to implement the schemes and policy

directions of NALSA through strategic and preventive legal services programmes. Further, she spoke on

Right to Information Act and briefly narrated the procedure to get the relief under the said act. She also

spoke on the late Birth and Death Registration Act and briefly gave information about the procedure for

the registration of the same and urged public to get the same registered.

Shri. Nilesh Velip, Multipurpose Health Worker of Primary Health Centre, Sanguem spoke on vector borne

disease. He gave a talk on various disease spreading by various types of mosquitoes and explained the

facilities available regarding diseases in there Centre. He also gave the information on availability of

Adolescence Clinic for the students in the premises of Primary Health Centre, Sanguem from 2.00 pm to

4.00 pm and various schemes such as Din Dayal Yojna, Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana etc.

There were about 110-120 participants including the dignitaries and the staff of Miracles High School,

Khairikati, Sanguem-Goa. Session of Questions and answer was conducted for about 45 minutes which

was sufficiently answered by Shri. Nilesh Velip, Adv. Miss Abhilasha Naik and Shri. Putu Gaonkar.

25th September, 2018

Legal Literacy Camp on Consumer Protection Act, Childrens Act,

Arrest and Bail, Fundamental Duties was organized by Taluka Legal

services Committee, Mormugao at Murgaon High Schoool, Sada,

Vasco-Goa on 25th September, 2018 at 11.30 a.m.

Around 92 people had participated for the programme. Adv. Rajiv

Dhavliakar attended the Camp and spoke on topic “Consumer

Protection Act”. Adv. J. Divkar spoke on the topic “ Childrens Act”. Shri.

Shirdhar Kamat(PSI) spoke on topic “ Arrest & Bail”. Nitin Chopdekar

(Social Worker) spoke on topic “Fundamental Duties”. The

programme concluded at 1.40 p.m.

Awareness programme on Nutrition and Personal Hygiene for

Children/Adolescents and Awareness Programme on Child Rights and Child Abuse

was organized by Taluka Legal Services Committee, Canacona at St. Sebastian High

School, Loliem, Canacona-Goa on 28th September, 2018 at 11.00 a.m.

Shri. Prashant Kholkar, Staff Nurse, from community Health Centre, Canacona gave

talk on Nutrition and Personal Hygiene of Children. Adv. Joyce D’Souza gave an

overview of Child Rights in India. Shri. Damodar Shirodkar, PSI Canacona, Police

Station spoke on the crimes against children with reference to cyber crimes and

use social media sites such as facebook. Around 108 people participated for the

programme.

01st October, 2018

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Service Committee,

Benaulim on Observance of Senior Citizen Day at Divine Providence, Old age

Home, Benaulim, Goa on 1st October, 2018 at 3.00 p.m.. Smt. Auda Viegas (NGO)

gave a talk on “Rights of Senior Citizens” & Adv. Babita A Dcosta on Ëntitlemen to

Free Legal Aid”.

Jaycee Group of Benaulim was called & they entertain the senior citizen by games,

songs & also encouraged senior citizen to sing song & small prizes were given to

participants.

1st October 2018

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Service Committee, Dharbandora on Observance of

Senior Citizen’s Day at Somnath English High School, Savargal, Dabal, Dharbandora-Goa on 1st October 2018

at 3.00 p.m..The Camp started at 3.30 p.m. Advocate Shri Rajesh Gaonkar welcomed the gathering and gave

introductory speech and highlighted the main object of holding such type of camp in the different places of

this Taluka in order to make awareness to general public about the law and they were requested to take the

benefits of all the schemes provided by the District Legal Services Authority.

Dr. Mrs Darshana Naik, Medical Officer from Primary Health Centre, Kakoda spoke on diseases such as

Diabetes, Heart Attacks, Paralyses strokes etc. She briefly narrated the symptoms of the above mentioned

diseases. She explained the precautions to be taken to maintain the blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes

inorder to avoid attack/strokes. She explained the diets of the patients pertaining to all the above mentioned

diseases. She briefly narrated the importance of exercise to maintain the health of Senior Citizens. Dr.

Shankar Nadkarni, Medical Officer/Social worker gave talk on how to maintain the health of Senior Citizens.

He explained the diets to be taken for diabetes patients. He further requested the public to take care of their

health by performing exercise, walking, yoga, controlling diet and also requested senior citizens to undergo

medical check-up regularly to avoid attacks/strokes.

Social Welfare Schemes for Senior Citizens.Advocate Shri Ishwar Kuttikar spoke on rights of Senior Citizens.

He also spoke on Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act. He further disclosed various

schemes of the Government which are available for senior citizens.

Advocate Mrs. R. M. Pendnekar spoke on the late Birth and Death Registration Act and briefly submitted the

procedure for the registration of the same urged the public to get the same registered, if not yet registered by

their family members, friends, neighbours, relatives, villagers etc.There were about 50 to 60 participants

including the dignitaries, members of All Goa Senior Citizens Federation, Dharbandora Taluka Senior Citizen

Forum, Dharbandora-Goa, Sarpanch and Panch members of Village Panchayat, Dabal and public who

attended the said camp. Shri Putu Gaonkar, Para legal Volunteer gave vote of thanks.

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Services

Committee, Quepem on Observance of Senior Citizen Day at Govt.

Primary School, Ghanemorod, Xeldem, Quepem, Goa on 1st

October, 2018 at 3.30 p.m.. Advocate Shri Vishwas Naik and Adv.

Ms. Vinita Harmalkar were the resource persons.

Advocate Shri Vishwas Naik Addressed the welcome speech and

gave the inspirational talk on Rights of the Senior Citizens and the

Maintenance of Senior Citizens and the importance of observance

of Senior Citizen Day.

Advocate Ms. Vinita Harmalkar spoke on the legal Aid to Senior

Citizens and NALSA schemes and the benefits.

After the completion of the talk of both Advocates, there was a

question and answers session wherein many of the senior Citizens

asked questions/ difficulties, to which both the resource person

replied and satisfied the people satisfactorily and for this reason of

the discussion the camp took longer time. Advocate Vinita

Harmalkar advanced vote of thanks.

1st October, 2018

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Services

Committee, Quepem on Observance of the event of Gandhi

Jayanti at Our Lady Mother of the Poor, High School, Tilamol,

Quepem Goa on 1st October, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.. The drive began

with a informative speech. Around 160 students alongwith 42

staff members took part in the drive.

The school participated in cleaning the school gardens, ground

classrooms, office etc.

School headmistress, teachers, non-teaching staff and students

were actively involved in the cleanliness drive. They actively

took up brooms and garbage bags to clean up every nook and

corner of classroom.

The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating the staff

and students. All the participating students, teachers and non-

teaching staff were served with the refreshment.

Taluka Legal Services Committee, Mormugao organized a Legal Literacy Camp on

Senior citizen day, on 01st October, 2018 at Police Housing Colony, Verna-Goa. Adv.

Suresh Rao attended the Camp and spoke on the topic “Senior citizen Act”.

Adv. Dileshwar Naik spoke on the topic “Free Legal Aid”. The programme concluded

at 7.15 p.m. Around 125 people participated for the said programme.

Legal Aid week for Senior Citizen held on 10th October, 2018 at 4.30 pm. at

Tuem Village Panchayat Hall, Pernem-Goa. Para Legal Volunteer Geetanjali

Harmalkar, welcomed the speakers/guest Adv. Shri Murari Parab, Adv. Shri.

Mandar Joshi, Adv. Shri. Samir Sawal Desai, Shri. Nilesh Kanolkar, Sarpanch of

V.P. Tuem, Ms. Magret Lobo, Panch Member, Shri. Anand Salgaonkar, Panch

Member and Suhas Naik, Panch Member of V.P. Tuem, Pernem-Goa.

Adv. Murari Parab in his speech addressed the Public regarding general

facilities/benefit of senior citizens, why the camp are organizing, is benefits

etc.

Adv. Shri. Mandar Joshi spoke on facilities given by the Indian Government to

help the Senior Citizens, their rights etc. He further made the public aware

about knowledge Laws, rights, Legal services available for the Senior Citizens

etc.

Adv. Shri. Samir Sawal Desai spoke on the births and deaths of senior citizen

and how to register the death in-case if it is not registered and what

documents required for the same. He further spoke on different facilities

provided to senior citizens, laws in force and their rights etc.

The camp started at about 4.30 pm. and ended at about 5.45 pm. About 110

people were attended the said campaign. During the questionnaire session,

questions were raised by the audience and the same were explained

thoroughly to their satisfaction by adv. Shri. Murari Parab, Adv. Mandar Joshi,

Adv. Shri. Samir Sawal Desai.

The function was held under the chairmanship of Pernem Taluka Legal

Services Committee, in coordination with Village Panchayat Tuem, Pernem

Goa.

Taluka Legal Service Committee, Margao on

Observance of World Mental Health Day at

Ravindra Kelekar Dynanmandir, Vidyanagar,

Margao , Goa on 10th October 2018 at 11.00

a.m.. Smt Auda Viegas (NGO) gave a talk on

“Mental health Stress due relating to

education & “Entitlement to Free Legal Aid”.

Dr. Hegde gave a talk on various illness like

depression anxiety disorder & showed some

yoga exercise how to control them.

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the

Taluka Legal Services Committee, Quepem

on Observance of World Mental Health Day

at Village Panchayat Hall, Molocornem,

Quepem Goa on 10th October, 2018 at 4.00

p.m.. Adv. Shri Joao Fernandes and Dr.

Prajyot Mahale, P.H.C. Quepem, were the

resource persons. Adv. Joao Fernandes

addressed the welcome speech and gave

the inspirational talk on Motor Vehicle Act ,

highlighting section 185 of M.V. Act and

also spoke on the legal and NALSA schemes

and the benefits. Around 19 people

participated for the camp.

After conclusion of the talk of both

Advocates, there was a question and

answer session wherein some of the people

asked questions/difficulties, to which both

the resource person replied and satisfied

the people.

Adv. Joao Fernandes proposed the vote of

thanks and camp was concluded at 5.15

p.m.

Dharbandora, Goa on 10th October 2018 at 11.00 a.m.. Shri Sushant Bhagat welcomed the gathering and

gave introductory speech and narrated the main object of holding such type of camps in the different

places of this Taluka in order to make awareness to general public about the law and they were

requested to take the benefits of all the schemes provided by the District Legal Services Authority.

Advocate Shri Ishwar Kuttikar spoke on the Right to Health of Mentally ill and Mentally Disabled Persons

and the constitution of India. He stated that as citizens of India mentally ill persons are entitled to all

those human and fundamental rights which are guaranteed to each and every citizen by the constitution

of India to the extent their disability do not prevent them from enjoying those rights or their enjoyment

is expressly or impliedly barred by the constitution or by any other statutory law.

He also spoke on the late Birth and Death Registration Act and briefly submitted the procedure for the

registration of the same and urged the public to get the same registered, if not yet registered by their

family members, friends, neighbours, relatives, villagers etc.

Shri Viraj Aglotar, Field Assistant, from Social Welfare Department briefly explained various schemes as

per Citizen’s Charter, Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa and also briefly explained

benefits of the same. He also briefly explained the schemes which are available for mentally disabled

person as per Citizen’s Charter and also explained how to avail the same. He also further narrated the

procedure and briefly explained the documents required to avail the benefit of all schemes. Shri Puto

Gaonkar, Para Legal Volunteer gave vote of thanks and requested the public to take the benefits of the

facilities available in block Development Office and also Free Legal Aid Services.

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Services

Committee, Vasco on Observance of Legal Literacy Camp (World

Mental Health Day) at New Dawn Ashadeep Special School, Head

Land, Sada, Vasco Goa on 10th October, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.. Dr.

Shradha Kholkar, Physio Therapist, From Panaji, spoke on

Personal Hygiene.

Father Henry Fernandes, Varca, spoke on topic “Stress – the

parents go through” The programme concluded at 1.00 p.m.

15th October, 2018

Legal Aid week for Mental Health held on 15th October, 2018 at 11.45 am. At Community Health Center,

Tuem, Pernem Goa. Shri. Uday Tamhankar, Sanitary Inspector, welcomed the speakers/guest Adv. Shri

Murari Parab, Adv. Shri. Prasad Shahapurkar, Dr. Amita Redkar, Addl. Charge as Health Officer, Dr.

Vignesh Kankonkar, both doctor of Community Health Center, Tuem, Pernem Goa.

Adv. Murari Parab in his speech addressed the Public regarding facilities provided to the Mental

patients/persons by Government of India, the important of camps, why the camps are organized, its

benefits etc. Adv. Shri. Prasad Shahapurkar spoke on facilities given by the Indian Government to help

the Mental ill persons, their rights etc. He further informed the public, when such law came into

enforce. He further made the public aware about Laws, rights, services available for the mental ill

persons etc. Dr. Amita Redkar spoke on facilities given by government of Goa, how they treat such

patients, how to take care of such persons in society etc.

The camp started at about 11.45 am and ended at about 12.50 pm. About 80 people were present for

the said campaign. During the questionnaire session, questions were raised by the audience and the

same were explained thoroughly to their satisfaction by Dr. Amita Redkar, Dr. Vignesh Kankonkar, Adv.

Shri Murari Parab and Adv. Prasand Shahapurkar. The function was head under the guidance of the

chairperson, Pernem Taluka Legal Services Committee in coordination with Community Health Center,

Tuem, Pernem Goa.

20th October, 2018

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the

Taluka Legal Services Committee, Vasco on

Observance of Mediation Awareness

Programme at Civil & Criminal Court, Vasco,

Goa on 20th October, 2018 at 10.00 a.m..

Apurva Nagvenkar, Adhoc Senior Civil Judge

& J.M.F.C., Vasco attended the programme.

spoke on topic Mediation Awareness.

Legal Literacy Camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Services Committee, Margao on Observance

of Mediation Awareness Programme at Civil & Criminal Court Building in “A” Court Hall, Margao Goa

on 20th October, 2018 at 2.15 p.m. All Judicial Officer of Civil & Criminal Court, Margao attended

alongwith 3 Mediators. Talks were given on various aspect of mediation by Chief Judicial Magistrate

Shri. N.S. Amonkar, Mediator Advocate A. Arsekar & Advocate Savita Kurtarkar.

22nd October, 2018

Legal Literacy camp was organized by the Taluka Legal Services Committee, Quepem in the coordination

with the District Legal Services Authority, South Goa, Margao at CTN, Higher Secondary, Curchorem-Goa

on 22nd October, 2018 at 11.00 a.m .

Adv. Cinthiya Parab and Adv. Ms. Vinita Harmalkar were the resource persons. Adv. Cinthiya Parab gave

an inspirational talk on Rights and duties of the childrens and on Anti Ragging Act. She specifically

highlighted on the right of childrens to vote as the students were from higher secondary school and

between the age of 16 to 18 years.

Adv. Vinita Harmalkar gave heart touching speech on the Juvenile Justice Act and the POSCO Act, 2012.

She also spoke on legal aid and NALSA Schemes and the benefits.

After the completion of the talk of both Advocates, there was a question and answer session wherein

many of the students asked questions/difficulties, to which both the resource person replied and

satisfied the students satisfactorily and for this reason of the discussion the camp took longer time.

Mr. Mafaldo Fernandes, Teacher of the CTN Higher Secondary School advanced vote of thanks and the

camp was concluded at 12.30 p.m.
