Project FileSFor Project 13H, you will need the following file:

You will save your presentation as:

Lastname_Firstname_13H_Savannah_Tour

Robin Ambrose, Recreation Supervisor at Oro Jade Savannah, has created a presentation to share with guests interested in touring the historic district in Savannah. Use the following information to edit the presentation so that it will be ready to show guests.

Savannah’s historic downtown is set up on a grid system that was originally founded by General James E. Oglethorpe in 1733. Savannah was the first capital of Georgia.

The trees of the south are often filled with Spanish moss, which is not really a moss at all. It is an air plant that captures its nutrients and water from the air. Although it is not dangerous to the trees, it can slow their growth.

Forsyth Park is a 30-acre city park in the historic district. It contains the Confederate Memorial Statue and a fountain reminiscent of fountains in Paris and Peru. The park also includes walking paths, an outdoor café, a children’s play area, a large fountain, tennis courts, basketball courts, and areas for soccer and Frisbee. Benefit concerts are held at the park.

Ellis Square is the home of the Johnny Mercer statue. The statue was dedicated to the award-winning singer and songwriter to commemorate what would have been his 100th birthday, November 18, 2009. Johnny Mercer is best known for writing the song Moon River. The artist Susie Chisholm created the statue based on a photo that depicts Johnny Mercer leaning against a fire hydrant reading the newspaper.

Savannah is the site of the Juliette Gordon Low birthplace, the city’s first National Historic Landmark. Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts in 1912 and became one of the most significant American women of her time. The landmark is owned and operated by Girl Scouts of the USA, and the museum is open to the public.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is a book written in 1994 that is set in Savannah, Georgia. The plot is based on real-life events that occurred in the 1980s and highlights many historic locations like the Mercer House and people of the city, including Lady Chablis. The cover photo features the Bird Girl sculpture that was originally located in Bonaventure Cemetery. The book was made into a movie in 1997.

River Street is lined with century-old buildings that have been converted to antique shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and nightspots, and hotels. River Street is also the starting point for many city tours. From River Street, there is a great view of the Savannah River Bridge and large ships coming into and out of the port.

The final presentation should include six to eight slides of varying layouts and a title slide. Apply a slide transition with a modified effect option and duration. Apply appropriate font formatting and settings. Resize and format pictures appropriately. Insert a SmartArt object to present content, and format it appropriately. Insert an appropriate WordArt object. Reorganize the slides to present them in a logical order. On at least two slides, add Notes.

Insert a Footer on the Notes and Handouts. Include the Date and time updated automatically, the Page number, and the file name. Add your name, your course name, and the section number, and then add the tags Savannah attractions to the properties. Submit the project as directed by your instructor.

Wyatt Shafer, Recreation Supervisor at Oro Jade Atlanta, has introduced a new teen center to his hotel. Use the following information to create a presentation that Wyatt can show to regional management to introduce the center.

The teen center concept is designed to attract guests 13–17 years old with spaces to socialize and organized activities limited to the age group. The hotel has an arcade that is open seven days a week, noon to 10:00 p.m. Video games, pinball machines, and air hockey tables are available. Machines accept tokens and hotel room keys with charging privileges. A teen lounge is open nightly from 7:00 p.m. to midnight with music, a large dance floor, and ping pong and pool tables. Food and drinks are available for purchase in the lounge. There are special events on weekends, such as video game and ping pong tournaments, themed parties such as decade events and luaus, and poolside activities. Special events are free to participate, but preregistration may be required.
