    GENERAL MANAGER CORPORATE SERVICES

    Fiji Ports Corporation Limited [FPCL] is a wholly owned Government Commercial Company [GCC]

    established on 1st July 2005, as a result of the reorganization of the Port Industry, namely the Ports

    Terminal Limited [PTL] and Maritime Ports Authority of Fiji Islands [MPAF].

    FPCL functions and services encompass operations of the six ports of entry [Suva, Lautoka, Levuka,

    Malau, Wairiki, Rotuma], administration of the subsidiary entities responsible for stevedoring and cargo

    handling activities [Ports Terminal Limited], and slipway and ship repairs/maintenance [Fiji Ships Heavy

    Industries Limited], management of the properties portfolio, and local wharves at Suva and Lautoka.

    To support the companys overall business growth and organizational and service improvements, Fiji PortsCorporation Limited is looking to fill the position ofGeneral Manager Corporate Services.

    The position directly reports to the CEO of Fiji Ports Corporation Limited, and responsibilities will includemanaging and overseeing Human Resources Management, Information Systems and Communication,

    Strategic Business Planning and Marketing, Legal, OHS, and Properties and Development.

    Position scope

    The holder of this position will be required to formulate and drive the Corporate Services Division and main

    tasks will include:

    Supporting the ports operations and businesses and senior management teams throughleadership and decision making, driving process improvements and relevant best practices for

    organizational excellence. Incumbent must have good presentation skills and high level

    communication ability and effective team leader,

    Development of business strategies and policies relating to organizational development, processand system improvements, corporate governance, risk and safety management oversight,

    standards and compliance etc.

    Research and analytical skills to effectively conduct gap analysis/cost benefit analysis andformulate strategic policies and procedures to improve performance of the organization at tacticaland operational levels.

    The ideal individual will have proven management experience, a strategic thinker with ability to build strongrelationships and provide effective leadership, and also very motivated and business professional who cantake control and be accountable.

    Qualifications and skills

    Over 10 years post qualification experience of which 5 years will have been gained in a seniormanagement position

    A relevant Degree is essential, and MBA from a recognized University will be an addedadvantage

    Experience and skills in change management, analytical and monitoring, strategic planning and

    marketing, performance improvement and assessment

    Knowledge and experience in computer based management

    Understanding, and experience in design and execution of legal documents

    In-depth understanding of Human Capital Management Experience within a general management / corporate services position is essential as well as

    sound knowledge of best work practices / processes.
