• Initially, 86 accessions of six vegetable species were introduced:

– tomato (6 lines to 5 countries);– sweet pepper (5 lines to 6 countries);– eggplant (3 lines to 2 countries);– hot pepper (5 lines);– soybean (5 lines); and– cabbage (7 lines).

• Additional 111 accessions of 13 vegetable species were introduced to the countries in 2011.

• “Complex evaluation of vegetable germplasm with unique traits, promising lines revealing and submission to the state varietal trial”, Uzbekistan. (2009-2011).

• “Cropping system in cotton rotation”, Uzbekistan. (2009-2011).

• “Study of the world gene fund of tomato and revealing of promising lines for processing”, Kyrgyzstan (2009-2011).

• Early maturing, high yielding with a compact bush mungbean, vegetable soybean and long yard bean varieties. Uzbekistan’s state and ICARDA projects on land management (2008-2011)

Uzbekistan (20 farmers and householders)’• Training Course on “The Evaluation of Superior

Vegetable Varieties”,19-21 July and 11-15 September 2011, Tashkent, Uzbekistan (20 specialists).

• English training course (2 specialists)

• Three PhD students and one post doc supervised by AVRDC-CAC on research of AVRDC vegetable soybean, hot pepper, long yard bean and leafy cabbage germplasm in Uzbekistan and three PhD students conduct research in Armenia on tomato and broccoli.
