THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE EVERYDAY OBJECTS WE USE THAT PRODUCE GREEN HOUSE GASES AND Co2 IN THE ATMOSPHERE.

POLAR BEARS AND PENGUINS

• Some of the world’s most beautiful animals such as polar bears and penguins are in danger through no fault of their own. We are heating up our planet so much it’s the same as someone setting fire to it. Because of this we are causing the ice on which these polar bears and penguins live on to melt, destroying their world and slowly bringing their and our lives to an end.

Global warmingPolar bear’s habitats are rapidly melting

due to global warming. This survey from

2005 shows how serious the matter

actually is. Over just 2 years this is how

much ice has melted. If we carry on the

way we are going now, in only a few

short years polar bears and penguins in the wild will become

extinct. Our world is already overpopulated and if we don’t act

right now when the polar ice caps melt we won’t be ready. Not

only will many animals be wiped out but so will many humans.

There would hardly be enough land to survive on even with all

of these deaths.

Global warming

• As these pictures show, our actions are slowly bringing the world to an end. We are causing the same effect as someone setting fire to the whole of earth. It’s our own actions that cause things like flash flooding and heatwaves. We have created an invisible shield of harmful gas over the Earth’s own atmosphere trapping some of the sun’s heat and causing our planet to heat up.

Questions about global warmingQ What causes global warming?A Carbon dioxide and other polluting gases collecting in the air and forming an

invisible shield over Earth’s atmosphere trapping some of the sun’s heat and making the world warm up.

Q Is the Earth really getting hotter?A Yes, the planets average temperature has increased by 7 degrees more

than what it used to be 10 years ago.Q Are warmer temperatures causing bad things to happen to our planet?A Yes, warmer temperatures are causing the polar ice caps to melt making

earths sea levels rise all around the world.Q Is global warming making hurricanes worse?A Even though global warming does not cause hurricanes it does make them

stronger.Q Is there really cause for concern?A If we don’t prevent the causes of global warming the concerns we will have

to face will be, rising sea levels, polar bears and penguins becoming extinct, freak weather conditions, and lack of space for humans and animals to live.

Q What country is the largest source of global warming pollution?

A America is producing the most amount of pollution. It’s producing more than China, India and Japan put together.

Q How can we cut global warming pollution?

A It's simple. By reducing pollution from vehicles and power plants.

Q Is it possible to cut down on power plant pollution and still have enough electricity?

A Yes. First, we must use more efficient appliances and equipment in our homes and offices to reduce our electricity needs. Then we must build many more windmills to produce enough electricity for everybody's needs.

Q How can we cut car pollution?

A We can easily cut car pollution by walking more and getting electricity powered cars.

Q What can I do to help prevent global warming?

A There are many simple steps you can take right now to cut global warming pollution by, switching off at the plug when your finished with electricity powered objects, walking to more places instead of taking the car or bus, taking showers instead of baths and checking for drafts in your home.

10 WAYS TO HELP PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING

1. Plant a tree.

2. Air dry your clothes.

3. Switch of at the plug when finished.

4. Walk to more places.

5. Keep your water heater under 120 degrees.

6. Try to take showers.

7. Use electricity powered cars.

8. When you’ve grown out of something donate, recycle or sell it before you consider chucking it away.

9. Check for leaks of drafts in your house.

10. Try to make electricity by using windmills instead of factories.

sake.
