[global hr forum 2014] education for creativity - teach them to be curious
DESCRIPTION
What is the best question that we should hope to hear in the classroom? It is the question that is asked by the student him/herself. Nothing is more effective for developing a creative mind then adopting the habit of asking questions. Curiosity is the fuel and energy provider for creative and innovative thinking. During this session we will experience and learn about the powerful effect of the art of asking questions for developing the best intellectual and skillful student and preparing him and her in the most effective way for the world awaiting them out side of the school’s walls. The CEO of Global Excellence in Israel will also take us into a time tunnel hoping to see how the future school and classroom would and should look like. We will do so by asking some critical questions regarding the unfortunate situation of the educational system at large, with the intention to come up with some interesting and creative ideas for the future of education.TRANSCRIPT

The challenge
Closing the dangerous gap
The million $ questions
- Why schools are not changing as the rest of the world is ?
- How come teachers are still teaching like they did 150 years ago?
- Do we need a teacher in the AG (After Google) era ?
- What should be the job description of the 'new age' teacher?
- Can schools prepare the students to a world that will change five times over before the students graduate?
- Can the school provide students skills for jobs and professions that have not been invented yet?
- Can you really teach how to be a creative and innovative thinker?
- Is change possible ?
Unfortunately we are:
Educating today the children of tomorrow to a world of yesterday..
Predicting the future of education
Future education will not take place in a 4 wall classroom detached from the real world.
It will happen either when the school will move outside to the 'real world' or when the world will enter into the school.
Future education is going to focus on skills, habits and tools rather than on information and data.
Class education is going to become similar to sports education. Teachers are going to become coaches.
