Objective:

Support pollution reduction activities in the Black Sea / Danube through knowledge sharing.

Approach:

Create Community of implementers of water pollution reduction projects

Areas: • Agricultural pollution control (APC)• Municipal wastewater treatment • Cleaner industrial production• Wetland Restoration

Objective:

Support exchange of knowledge and experience in the APC community of the Black Sea / Danube Basin.

Participants:

• Project managers at country level• Government experts• Local applied researchers and NGOs• WB APC project task team leaders• International experts• Managers of similar initiatives in other regions

Distance Learning for APC in the Black Sea / Danube Basin (1)

Activities:

• Web based “activity room” accessible to all participants to post questions to peers and international experts; to share experiences and documents; and to lead discussions.

• Video based courses based on demand, such as on monitoring and evaluation; economics and financing of water pollution control

• Regular video based discussions on pre-determined topics in APC

• Library of useful, practical background materials
