Passion Projects

We invite you to join us in a project bringing passion into the classroom! Yes, that's right: passion! We learn about, teach others, and talk - about that for which we have a passion. Why not cultivate such passion in our students?

What passions do you already have?

• How does that passion inspire you when things are tough?

• In what ways can your passion inspire others?

• Can you be inspired to learn more about another's passion?Janet Barnstable, Global Virtual Classroom Program Manager & HLW / Louise Morgan, Global Classroom Project Management Team & HLW / Steve Sherman, LivingMaths Founder & HLW /

Global Wonderings

For this project, this students will respond to weekly questions about their everyday experiences and wonderings. Through the wiki, students across grade levels and continents will see the responses of their peers. Through this interactive sharing, students will learn about the life and questions of children across the globe while at the same time understand our innate sameness.

@Maria Colussa, Argentina

“My learning journey started with a Twitter conversation, which although I didn’t know it, would have a huge impact in the way I approached teaching from then on.

I started collaborating with teachers who I’d never met … Answering calls for Mystery Skype Sessions, leaving comments in their classroom blogs … have become part of my daily routine.

I went from being an isolated teacher of English as a foreign language to a valid reference to teachers who need to expose their students to other voices from around the world.

I have become more confident, and I have learnt a lot about their countries, customs, and way of life.”
