ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The application of Mathematics in various fields of Science and Technology is widely known and ap-

preciated. The department has working with high standards of teaching and learning, adhering to the goals of

the college. In addition to teaching, the faculty members are actively engaged in research activities.

VISION

To establish a strong Mathematical Foundation in theory and practical among the learners with an aim

to serve the society.

MISSION

To inculcate Mathematical advancements among the rural learners leading to socially relevant research.

Glimpses

Intercollegiate Meet TRAZE 2015 was

organized on 23.09.2015 in which around 271 students

from various Institutions participated. Dr.

R.S.Sankarasubramanian, Professor and Head,

Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology, Coim-

batore addressed the gathering.

Academic Achievements

There are 26 Rank holders have been produced, besides that 18 members in UG and 6 members in PG

and also there was 5 Gold Medalists.

As an extension activity, final PG Students donated necessary things, provided lunch, conducted games

and distributed prizes for the children of Bharathiar Orphanage, Chennimalai on 22.08.2015.

A Personality Development Pro-

gramme (PDP) was organized by our Department for

our final year UG Students, dated on 27.08.2015, by

Helikx HR Training and Business Consulting, Erode.

A Guest Lecture Programme on

“Application of General Topology” was given by

Dr.G.P.Youvaraj, Professor, Ramanujan Institute for

Advanced Study in Mathematics, University of Ma-

dras, Chennai was arranged for the benefit of our Post

Graduate students on 11.09.2015.

A Guest Lecture Programme on “Application

of Partial Differential Equations in Numerical

Analysis” was conducted by Dr.K.Thilagavathi, As-

sociate Professor, Kongunadu Arts and Science Col-

lege (Autonomous), Coimbatore for the benefit of I

M.Sc students on 14.09.2015.

128th Birth Anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanu-

jan was celebrated by the department as Ramanujan

Day on 02.01.2016 . Dr.A.Anguraj, Associate Profes-

sor, Department of Mathematics, P.S.G. College of

Arts and Science (Autonomous), Coimbatore presided

over the function and motivated the students with his

inspiring speech.

Calisson’ 16 (Alumni Meet) was conducted on

07.02.2016. The Alumni donated a sum of Rs.10,500/-

to their juniors who are in need of financial support to

pursue their Higher Studies.

CSIR/NET/SET coaching classes were conducted for the Post Graduate students in the month of Feb-

ruary 2016. Dr.K.Karuppiah, Program Associate, Bharathiar University was the resource person.
