From the Principal Dear Parents
4L Visit Bunnings 4L were lucky enough to have a trip to Bunnings Warehouse on Mulgoa Road, where Carly and the Bunnings team organised a D.I.Y. session. The excursion came about when Jimmy presented the class with his model of the Bunnings warehouse for news. Carly and the Bunnings team took the model and have displayed it at the Penrith Store. Miss Leersnyder and 4L had a fantastic time planting flowers, painting pots and getting a complete store tour with the help of Jimmy‟s expertise and knowledge. We would like to thank Carly and the Bunnings team for supporting our students and inviting our class to their store.

RUN AROUND THE WORLD CHALLENGE Glenmore Park Public School will be participating in the Run Around the World challenge as part of National Health & Physical Education day (H&PE Day) celebrations. The event will be held on the school grounds, tomorrow, Wednesday 5th September. The world‟s circumference spans approximately 40,000 km and the goal for H&PE Day is to run a „lap of the world‟ together as a nation. To achieve this, we need 40,000 students across the country to walk, wheelchair, jog or run at least 1 km each. The focus of the day is to get outside, active and having fun as a school community. The Run Around the World challenge is a healthy, fun and active way to ensure we send the right message to our students about getting active, having fun and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The main focus of this event is participation. Family support is most appreciated as we encourage all students to get involved.
DRAMA AT THE JOAN On Thursday 16th August both our Primary and Infants drama groups performed at the Western Sydney Regional Drama Festival. They were stars both on and off the stage due to their outstanding behaviour and excellent performance. Well done!!!

number of entries from Year 1 through to Year 6. The amount of thought and effort put in by the children has been fantastic with a whole gamet of designs ranging from hand drawn to cut outs and computer generated images. Congratulations to all those wonderful children. As there were a number of quality entries, we have decided to use aspects of some of them rather than a whole design. We will publish the names of the winning landscape gar-deners when we have made our decision. Once again, well done to all those children who participated in our competition. Carole Kelaher

RUGBY LEAGUE CHAMPS The junior boys were undefeated in the Penrith District PSSA Competition. In the Grand Final we played against Surveyors Creek. Although the very windy conditions made it hard for both teams to pass the ball we were able to attack with lots of energy. We won the game 54-0 in a very convincing fashion. A few weeks earlier the boys competed at the Regional 7‟ a side competition. We made the semi-final and were beaten in that game by the eventual winners Blaxland East PS. The team has had an outstanding year and made it through the finals or semi-finals in all the competitions they competed. Thanks to all the parents for your support transporting and supporting the boys. To Mr Chester for his time running the water and warming the team up before the matches. The senior boys team also played in the PSSA Grand Final against York PS. Previously we had a 12-12 draw with them. We lost the toss and had to run into a very stiff wind. York controlled the ball very well and thoroughly deserved the hard fought 16-4 victory. The senior team had a wonderful year beating the highly ranked Lethbridge Park PS at the Panther Trophy and also Regentville PS in the semi-finals of the PSSA competition. Special thanks to Mr Welsh for his assistance with the team over the past four years.
