Softball Well done to Mike who recently competed at the PSSA State Softball Carnival representing our region (Sydney West) for the tournament held in Ballina. The team was placed second at the carnival. Both the coaches Tracey and Gina said Mike performed very well and was a credit to the School and region with his behaviour and skills on and off the field. Congratulations Mike.

Dear Parents/Caregivers
Mini Fete Our Mini Fete was a huge success - even the rain couldn’t stop us! I would like to thank all of the staff of GPPS for their hard work, particularly Mr Corry, Mrs Apps and Miss Corner. The money raised will be used by Year 6 to purchase a gift for the school.
I have gathered some fantastic information about our school, thanks to the parents/carers who completed the survey. In collating the responses the following things have been identified as our strengths:
the wonderful staff (teaching, administrative and support);
the many opportunities that the students are provided with;
the resources available to support the students’ learning; and
the beautifully maintained grounds. I have also been able to now create the parent/carer Tagcloud. Many wonderful words were used to describe our school. Interestingly enough, when I look at all three Tagclouds

Penrith Star Design an Advertisement Competition
During the last half of Term Three Year 6 took part in a competition through the Penrith Star advertising local businesses in the Penrith area. Our school concentrated on the "Good Guys" Penrith store. Congratulations to Ruby of class 6C who achieved 3rd place and $100 in the Primary section of the competition. Well done to Ruby and to all Year 6 children taking part in this year's competition.
Earlier this month, I went to South Australia to play in the Australian Goalball Championships (Nationals). This is the biggest goalball tournament in Australia and my first time attending. I was a member of the Junior NSW team, my position is left wing or centre. NSW did extremely well and one most divisions over the week. The juniors had an unlucky loss (8-9) with a very close game to South Australia in the grand final. We were awarded the Silver Medal, which was awesome. The whole tournament went for six days and we were undefeated until the fifth day. When we were on court we were extremely competitive, and saw our opponents as the enemy but when we were off the court we could potentially be brothers and sisters. I had an absolute ‘Goal’ ball!
