Principal’s Message
It was great to see so many parents and teachers at the P&C meeting last night. Our P&C do a
tremendous job supporting the school. Thank you!
Our demountable classroom is due to arrive very soon. I know 3/4W and Mr Watts are looking
forward to moving into their new learning space. Also looking forward to this is Ms Callen,
who will get her whole library back. You can find some drawings and photos of the new
demountable on pages 6 and 7.
Finally this week, don’t forget to vote on Saturday. You can do so at the Peter Forsyth
Auditorium, where you can also buy some delicious cakes and treats from our P&C volunteers.
All proceeds will go towards purchasing classroom resources.
“Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit
salad.” (Unknown)
Have a great weekend.

Clifton Gardens
Last Friday Years 1 to 6 headed to Clifton Gardens in Mosman for a picnic day. Although it was a
little chilly, most of the students still went swimming, as did some of the teachers.
Students also participated in sports and games, went on a bush walk, and played on the equipment.
As tradition would have it, year 6, if they were game, jumped off the peer. Wow!
Spirits were high and there were smiles all round. We all had a great day.

P&C News
Cake stall this Saturday - Outside Peter Forsyth Auditorium We will be fundraising this weekend for classroom resources during voting at the PFA polling booth (that's the big hall near the basketball courts, under Broadway Shopping Centre access ramp). Come along to cast your vote and enjoy some democracy cupcakes/brownies/cookies while you wait in line! Meeting held this week Thanks to those who attended this week's meeting. A few issues discussed included a pro-posal for installation of solar panels at the school, upcoming events such as Movie Night and Trivia Night, and future fundraising for Centipede. More details to come as they are nutted out. Centipede The P&C is a strong supporter of our wonderful out-of-school-hours care program, Centipede, which goes above and beyond to support children of all families in our community to access quality care, meals and holiday experiences, regardless of ability to pay. Centipede is facing some significant challenges including a shortage of places and a projected funding shortfall. You can help by notifying the staff directly (by text, call or email) if your child is unable to attend on an afternoon they are booked in; by supporting the annual fundraiser which will take place in October (date tbc); or by spreading the word to your networks about becoming a 'Friend of Centipede'! Go to http://www.centipede.org.au/ to learn how Friends can help the service to remain sustainable. Cheers Rachel - Vice President [email protected]
Jarjums
Each Monday at lunch time, a group of Indigenous students meet up with Uncle Garry to
talk culture, identity and respect. The boys are learning a dance for NAIDOC Week, and
every week ends with a game of Oz tag. It’s lots of fun, thanks Uncle Garry!
