To Whom It May Concern, Re: Frank Walsh I employed Frank as Interim Business Manager from April 2016 to December 2016. The assignment was dual-focussed in terms of being responsible for significantly improving the operational performance of Glassolutions’ largest glass processing plant as well as mentoring me in my new capacity as head of twelve nationwide glass businesses. Within the context of a plant and its people having been through significant changes in the previous two years, with added complexities of centralised UK and European operational methodologies and teams, Frank delivered some truly excellent results across all main drivers of the business through his lean based leadership. In turn, we together took certain techniques and adopted them in other plants around the UK for significant gain. However, more than the results alone, Frank achieved them by being both trusting and demanding of existing employees and through developing their skills to ensure they could sustain the performance themselves. The mentoring I personally received from Frank went far beyond what I had originally anticipated. His counsel and practical wisdom on wide-ranging topics, from the tools of lean management to branch network governance, are experiences I’ll continue to hold with me.
