OUTSTANDING BENEFITS

■ DURABLE AND CORROSION RESISTANTLonger service life

■ LIGHTWEIGHT – EASY TO INSTALLNo need for heavy equipment

■ REDUCED COSTSLess than schedule 80 carbon steelDoes not require protective coatings

■ ELECTRICALLY SHIELDEDWhen grounded properly, prevents excessive accumulationof static electricity

The many advantages of AmeronGlassfiber Reinforced Epoxy (GRE)pipe systems

Durable and corrosion resistantAmeron GRE piping is inert to internalcorrosion from chemicals, crude oil, residues, injection water and bacteria.Similarly it resists exterior corrosion evenin aggressive environments. Cathodicprotection is not required.

Lightweight – easy to installGRE pipe systems, being just a quarter toan eighth the weight of comparable steelpipe, are easy to install without the needof heavy equipment.

Reduced costsThe installation cost of GRE pipe systemsare typically 80% of the costs of carbonsteel. The corrosion resistance andresistance to UV light reduce themaintenance costs for both above-ground and buried pipelines. The smoothinternal surface reduces the head lossresulting in lower pump energyconsumption.

Ameron Glassfiber Reinforced Epoxy(GRE) pipe systems – the costeffective alternative

Ameron Glassfiber Reinforced Epoxy(GRE) pipe systems represent the cost-effective alternative to corrosion-pronemetallic piping and non-reinforcedthermoplastics. Reduced installation andmaintenance costs, longer service life andthe ease of relocation are just a few ofthe advantages of the glassfiber pipingtechnology.

Complete piping systemsAmeron offers more than just pipesegments. Complete piping systems in avariety of diameters and pressures formany different application areas areavailable. Including a choice of jointsystems, such as adhesive-bonded,mechanical as well as threaded jointsystems and flanges.Ameron glassfiber reinforced epoxypiping is available in diameters up to1000 mm (40 inch), pressure classes up to245 bar (3500 PSI) and standard lengthsup to 12 m (40-feet).

Epoxy pipeBondstrand can be used for systems which are normallywater filled without additional passive fire protection.Fire exposure will cause the outer surface of the pipe tochar, but the inner piping is able to perform, stabilizedby the water.

Epoxy pipe with intumescent coatingFor dry services where epoxy pipe is preferred, an outerlayer of passive fire protection can be used.Intumescent coatings can be applied in the field(unreinforced) or in the factory (reinforced orunreinforced) to provide the fire endurance needed. The coating also provides very high resistance todamage and may be considered for areas where thepiping is vulnerable to impact.

Flame-retardantFlame-Retardant means the ability to retard burning andextinguish the flame once the flame source is removed.Bonstrand pipe meets rigorous requirements withrespect to flame spread and fire endurance.

IT CAN TAKETHE PRESSURE

Bondstrand® and Centron® pipe systems arecost-effective solutions for high-pressure pipelinesystems for oil and gas services such as gatheringlines, subsea flow lines and water injection lines.

Bondstrand® SSLWith a new revolutionary technology ofencapsulated high-tensile steel in a GRE jacket,Bondstrand® SSL enables operating pressures up toalmost 400 bar (5750 PSI), far higher thanconventional non-metallic materials. Ideal for themost demanding applications in corrosiveenvironments including carrying crude oil, salt andsour water.

Bondstrand® 3400 and Centron®

The technically advanced filament woundconstruction of Bondstrand® 3400 andCentron® SP/SPH pipes allows for tubing andcasing with deep hole capabilities over 3 km(10.000 ft.) and operating pressures of up to245 bar (3500 PSI).

■ Fast, reliable make-up, no adhesive required■ Flow characteristics 1.5 times better than

comparable steel■ Low solids build-up and low pressure drop■ Excellent resistance to abrasion and wear■ Exceptional corrosion resistance■ Exceptional pressure and axial load capabilities

IT CAN TAKE ITBondstrand® is corrosion and chemical resistant*. It isinert to bacterial growth and does not deteriorate withage, maintaining excellent flow characteristics during thelifetime of the system. The low absolute roughness ofthe inner surface and the large cross-sectional area resultin a significantly lower pressure drop than for examplesame size Schedule 40 carbon steel. The epoxy resin/fiberglass matrix never requires cathodic protectionagainst corrosive soil conditions and stray currentelectrolysis.
