    MILESTONES

    It was in the year 1998 that Shri Narayan Das Agrawal took the initiative to fulfill his fathers dream and laid down the foundation of the GLA Group of Institutions that later grew to become the GLA University through the U.P. State Legislative Act of 2009 (UP Act 21 of 2010). The Campus of the University is spread across more than 80 acres of lush green and expansive grounds. The University is home to more than 6,000 students, studying in a gamut of professional courses. The establishment feels proud of its alumni base of more than 9500 students. The University premises are one of the best in the region and give the University, an advantage over its compatriots. The campus with modern infrastructural facilities deserves a mention for its well designed and maintained buildings, contemporary laboratories, spa-cious residential complexes, and recreational facilities. The University employs more than 350 qualified faculty and 500 staff members. Renowned academicians, who believe in the over-all growth and development of their students, head the institutions of GLA University.     Separate hostels for boys & girls. Mess Facilities serves nutritious food prepared in hygienic condition. A Team of four full-time well qualified resident doctors, along with two part-time specialists

    are always ready to serve round-the-clock as the need requires. The team is supported by well-equipped dispensary and ambulance facilities.

    A cafeteria & canteen serves cuisines of various tastes. The University houses a departmental store, which stocks the basic daily need items. A full-fledges Bank branch along with ATM facility is available on campus. Students Welfare Cell. Round-the-clock electricity and water supply. Air-conditioned reading room in the library opens till midnight.

    RESEARCH INITIATIVES AT GLA UNIVERSITY

    The key goal of GLA University is to create an atmosphere for the students, where higher stud-ies, specialized research projects and effectual training can transpire.

    In a very short span of time, various departments of the University have come together to collaboratively concentrate on the expansion and improvement of research and development (R&D). To achieve technological proficiency and interdependence, the faculty members and students carry out regular projects to test and apply advanced knowledge for the progression and growth of the section.

    The expansion and advancement of any industry lies on innovation and modernization, which comes from new thoughts & ideas and open learning cultures. Students, under the guidance of the faculty members, undertake research projects in core areas of Applied Sciences, Engi-neering, Pharmacy and Management.

    GLA Universitys strong institutional ties with other academic organizations, R&D organizations and industries have led to research collaboration in areas of mutual interest, exchange of invi-tations for guest lectures and talks, training programs and seminars. In addition, the University also grants seed funds to the interested faculty members for initiating research with the gov-ernment and other funding agencies.

    Excellent track record of more than 70% placement every year

    The Department of Training and Placement is an integral part of the University. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programmes. Eminent professors and professionals organize regular training workshops to develop leadership skills in students. The department aims at achieving hundred percent placements every year with the support of highly reputed academicians belonging to various professional fields across the globe. The department focuses on placing the students in various establishments according to their area of interest and specialization. This is achieved by helping them acquire some work experience as a part of their curriculum with the help of summer training programmes and projects. Numerous corporate interactions in the form of guest lectures and industrial visits enable the students to get acquainted with the real-life occupational situations. These industrial visits are crucial for understanding the culture of the industrial world. More than 140 companies visit every year for students placement. In the year 2013 again 70 per-cent students have been placed in 129 companies.

    REGISTRATION DETAILS FOR ADMISSION

    GLA University has many clubs for managing the sports and extra-curricular activities in the campus. They are managed by faculty representatives who act as Presidents and Vice- Presidents. Besides the members of faculty, the senior students actively manage these clubs and take the roles like Secretaries and Joint Secretaries. The clubs are actively involved in organizing events and competitions for the students of the University. The various clubs are mentioned below. Clubs like E-SOC, SYNAPSE, Yantriki, CSI Chapter etc. act as a platform for almost every student to discover their latent talents, thus assisting in the development of the students all-round personality.

    Admissions are done through online objective type entrance examination for various courses.

    The candidates will be required to take the exam from 1st April, 2014 to 31 July, 2014 at various centers, all over the country. For the Centre List visit www.gla.ac.in

    Besides there is an examination center at GLA University, Mathura also. The candidates can book their examination dates and time 30 days in advance as per

    their convenience. To take up the exam, the candidates will be required to book a slot at designated centre

    through an online examination booking system in advance.

    WINGS FOR GROOMING Specially designed Placement Readiness Enhancement Program (PREP) is organized from

    first Year to final year in all the programmes to enhance the employability of the students and to prepare them for industry.
