For Crafts you will need:
To color print some pages or print in black and white and color in.
Several sheets of pretty papers for the fan and lantern crafts
Scissors, Glue, tape or stapler, Crayons, Markets, Stickers, Gems
Pink, White or Fuchsia tissue paper, paper, streamers, napkins or whatever you can crumble
into little pieces
3-5 dried twigs
Scrap fabric (optional), ribbon, sequins, etc
Friendship- Create Paper Lanterns- Give to a Friend
The origin of chochin, or paper lanterns, date back to almost 500 years ago in
Japan. They have formed part of Japanese culture and are still currently being
used in beautiful festivals in Japan.
Create your own Paper Lantern and give it to a friend- you’ll need
colorful paper, ribbons, scissors, stickers, and tape or stapler.
Fold paper in half and cut as shown only ¾ way up.
Cultural- Hina Doll Craft
Day of the Girl, Hina Matsuri, is a special day in Japan
dedicated to girls and their dolls.
After the festival, some people release paper dolls into the
rivers praying that this will send away sickness and bad

on white paper.
Tear little white, pink, or green tissue
paper balls and glue on branches. Mount
on large construction paper if desired.
