Keynote: Filling Lives with Hope. “We share in the mission
of the Universal Church which is: to be called and empowered
to promote and proclaim the reign of God. We exist for the
mission of Christ, the proclamation of the Good News. “Our
task is to bring all people into full union with Christ.”
(Dogmatic Constitution of the Church) We are to do as Jesus
commanded, “go and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have
commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Session I: Planting Seeds of Discipleship in the Domestic
Church. The family, called the domestic church, is often the
first place where a person experiences and is formed in the
faith. Family members learn more of the Christian life by
observing each other’s strengths or weaknesses, and family is
where one most concretely witnesses how to live a Christian
life.
Session II: Proclaiming and Promoting Discipleship in the
Wider Community. We are the body of Christ. None of us walk
alone. We reveal Christ in the way we impact our neighborhood, in
the way we are involved in the life we share with others. As
disciples, we are committed to respond to people in need.
Session III: The Transforming Power of Discipleship in Our
Lives. Every day, we are giving a new opportunity to embrace our
baptismal called to discipleship; the Holy Spirit empowered us with
vision and hope. Our mission is to impact every person affirming
them in who they are in the culture and tradition filling their lives
with hope. (Excerpts from the Diocese of San Bernardino Impact
Statement)
