Formed in ‘45 to protect interests of Gillette Woods property owners

9. No exterior walls of any home or outbuilding shall be constructed wholly of concrete block, poured concrete or sheet metal. Plywood used in exterior walls must be at least 5/8’ thick.

Exterior materials shall be durable and residential in character (wood siding, wood shingles, fiber cement siding, brick, stone, stucco, vinyl, etc.)



12. No more than 1 single family dwelling per acre of land. Heated and fully enclosed portions of houses must be at least 1600 sq ft.

13. Setbacks for houses and outbuildings must be at least 30’ from street, 20’ from side property lines, 40’ from rear property line.

Considerable similarities exist between Covenants and Town of Tryon Ordinances.

If we become familiar with the town laws and maintain communication with town officials, it can give us a partial solution to enforcement issues.

The Association may have more leverage than individuals.
