The Tulsa Police Department recognizes the unpleasantness of being a victim of a crime. The department also realizes it can be confusing when a citizen is given a report number either by completing a report on line or with an officer. Often the citizen wonders, “What happens next?”

Citizens will now be able to email the detectives assigned to their case. From the Department’s home page, tulsapolice.org, citizens will select the Detective Division and that screen will allow the citizen to select the squad investigating their case.  When the squad is selected an email will be generated allowing the citizen to ask a question about their case, provide additional information, or leave a tip on another crime.  The email will be routed through a supervisor to the detective assigned the case.

If the citizen does not know their case number they will still be able to send an email to the supervisor who will determine which detective is assigned the case.  The detective assigned to your case will then answer your email directly and in a timely manner.    By creating this avenue of communication between the citizen and the detective the police department is hoping for a better customer friendly atmosphere for our citizens.
