1935Goes to Florida to do research with white
folklorists.

and Men.
Mid April 1936Gets awarded
the Guggenheim Fellowship to
research in the Caribbean.
1937Writes Their Eyes Were Watching

back to Eatonville.

Moses, Men of the
Mountains is published.
1942Dust Tracks on a Road
is published.
September 1948The New York police take
Zora to jail.
October 1948 Seraph on the Surface hits
